I receive regular catalogs from the Vermont Country Store. They have interesting items ,normally..
However, in the newest catalog, page three, is a new item, a 'welcome mat' called the American flag rug. I would have a hard time using this mat, that looks like our flag, for wiping my feet.
I've dropped them an email. Yeah, as some would say, it's not the flag. maybe not, but.

The latest. I just got an email from the Vermont store. Based on my comment, they said they have removed the item from all unsent catalogs. I would imagine that means their inventory too. They apologized.

Good job Wayne! I haven't shopped at Lowes for over 2 years since they did the same thing with doormats. I complained in the store and got an "eye-roll" and a snotty remark, which I have forgotten. Gary

I've been in and have bought from that store several times. I was about to never set foot in it again until I heard of their response. Good company. Seems like they are trying to correct their mistake.

They took it away hence my link which leads to a page showing an item was removed. That used to be the page for the item in question. |

I was working at Lowes 2 years ago when they carried the same type of mat.
My friend who is a Marine (Vietnam `66) was so offended he bought all they had so no one else
could buy them. He complained to Corporate and wrote a letter to the manufacturer.
They ended up apologizing and pulled all of the mats from the stores.
If we don't stand up we can't be heard.
Thanks for doing what you can do........it will make a difference.
