My jacket was torn up during the recent accident and Im looking for recommendation on a good ballistic nylon or similar jacket

I saw a Tourmaster which I liked which was water resistant and retroreflective but it got generally poor reviews

Oss recommended a jacket with a co cartridge in it but I forgot the name of it if you read this Oss, please send again

I love the quality of my Joe Rocket mesh jacket. Hot, cold, rain, wind... I wear it
all year long. The liner keeps out the wind and rain. Layers (and then a heated
jacket liner) keep me warm. No liner at least keeps air blowing on me in
the heat. I just looked up what "ballistic nylon" means, I doubt you'd
be wearing that in the summer  Wink ...

Plus 1 on the Joe Rocket.

I've had them for years and they're my favorite.

As Hubcap said, very versatile, I also like the fact they're able to fold up and fit in the saddlebags if you want to secure them as well; i.e. @ a restaurant etc.

I moved away from the heavy feel of leather years ago and much prefer these lighter weight  jackets.

Once you've selected a make model, these folks often have some pretty good deals on closeout or last years models.

I had a TourMaster (I forget the model) and it served me very well.

Got a Joe Rocket from the motorcyclegear.com website about 2 years ago.  It was $49, previous year's model but has great protection on the elbows and the spine with a zip out liner for summer riding.  Just get on their mailing list and check the clearance items and you may find a really good buy.

Blue and White.  But I'm sure they are the same ones.

I have the joe rocket  the killamanjaro and the hit-air

Hairyteeth got the info right

No protection better than a hit-air iMHO

It is what I wear almost all the time even in dead of winter, just use the heated jacket liner then

Partial to First Gear.  We own jackets and full suits and they seem to work well for 3.5 season riding.

OK I looked at quite a few jackets and the Hit Air seems like it offers the most protection but they dont seem to have a bright high visibility jacket
I after hearing that the guy who caused my accident didnt see me, Im planning to get a neon helmet with black trim and black jacket with retro relective yellow trim
New at $550 to $650 for the Hit air jacket I would love to hear some proof that this thing really works
FOr the $179 -$279 range there are a number of jackets
Field Sheer HV $239
Revit Voltaic HV $279
Joe Rocket Revolution $179
One on my main concerns is that the jacket is cool so Im not tempted to take it off in JUly and have NO protection!
