According to the parts fiche, there's a washer on the drain plug for the rear end.  I've changed mine several times but don't ever remember a washer, and it has never leaked.  Any input from you guys?

It's one of those washers that stay on the bolt. I haven't tried to take it off and not sure if it does.

I recall it mentioned that it's the same size as the oil drain plug washer. Isn't there an o-ring on there also?

No O ring, just a crush washer. OEM manual says change every time, but at 149K, I still have the original.

I ordered the washer that is on the fiche from Directline.  They sent it to me in a small zip lock bag with no part number on it but it looks like a 14mm washer.  Don't want to sound stupid, but is a crush washer different from a standard washer?  The washer on my oil drain plug looks very smooth, almost like it was machined.  The one they sent me looks like it was stamped out of a flat piece of metal........has some rough edges around it.
