Yesterday on Sunday over 1000 motorcycle gang members descended on downtown Waco, TX to protest the continued jailing of 177 gang members who shot it out with each other over shared turf.  They have been in jail for 3 weeks.   These guys shot it out killing 9 and wounding 18.

What you all think?  Should they be let loose?

I think they should all stay there and be tried for murder.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

If no charges have been brought then set them free.

I'm confused and we are obviously not getting all the info.  I have read that those that were shot/killed were shot by LEO bullets, and there were no casings near the bodies on the ground.  I also read that a judge would waive bail if they signed a release that those arrested would not sue for false arrest.  Granted....not main stream media news, but they are kinda quiet on this lately.

My thoughts are if they were shooting, and killed someone they should be charged and held accountable.  However, if they were shot by officers and unjustly, then those should also be held accountable.  I just don't see much info on this lately.

I haven't heard of any deal making over false arrest.    What I see is they started shooting it out and that is when the LEO's started shooting too at anyone with a gun and shooting......don't see as they could have done anything else.    Yes the LEO's did shoot and kill some of the gang members but those guys came there with one purpose......to shoot it out with each other.....no sympathy here.

The biker forums are all full of comments that the LEO's planned this as an ambush. Not unexpected. Any active shooter scene, especially one with multiple shooters, will result in many different versions of how the event unfolded. But to even suggest that law enforcement actively planned this is just beyond the pale.

What was anyone expecting with 5 or more rival biker gangs congregated in one place? A rousing version of Kum-Bay-Ya in perfect harmony?

As far as who shot who....the forensics & autopsies will answer that question.

Yea....how long since you heard specifics about it?   I saw photos, with bikes and lights on and bodies next to them I think, indicating those were trying to get out of dodge.  Didn't see any shell casing or guns on the ground either.  I'm saying we are not getting all the information for some reason.  The stories I see are indicative of a set up, lying in wait type thing., and then the story of judge offering reduced bail if a release is signed??  Not sure if that is true.....   And I read that these meetings were held regularly???

It does seem that all has gone hush hush in the last weeks or so. And I'm not laying blame on anyone until the facts are in. Supposition runs rampant. As far as the jailed bikers are concerned. From where I sit, if I were their attorneys I'd be filing motions of habeus corpus and force the prosecution's hand.

On the other hand, if you sit and do nothing, speedy trial rules can result in automatic dismissals.

When you file motions, the time spent on them is on you and not countable against G time requirements.
