Looking at the brackets and bags you can buy from honda the bags mount through side holes unlike most cheap generics you would find in just a mom and pop shop that you drape over the back fender and install the seat over and tie to the bracket. I could care less if the rear fender suffers a bit of paint damage doing it that way but I'm unsure if 2 seat brackets will cause problems because of the way they mount to the handles. I can't forgo the handles and go with the single seat brackets because the sissy bar also mountes to the handles. Has anyone installed the sissy bar and non honda bags yet?

Not sure but I would think you can do a lot with the stock brackets like add frame work to them that will hang down so as to protect the fenders and keep from getting close to the rim.  I bought the brackets but no bags for later down the road.  Haven't put them on yet but studied the possibilities.

From what I'm seeing I would end up going under the seat then over the handles.
