Hey all,

Anyone have any experience with home video cameras and recording equipment? Since I don't know much about it such as camera lens type and their abilities it's tough knowing what is good and what would be best.

I'd like to go wireless and have a good recording device but don't need weeks of memory, I think it would be mostly for night usage for my home.

Any tips, product recommendations or other stuff would be most welcome.

Thanks,

Mike

Google, though NOT your friend,,,,,,,is your friend.
Costco has a nice unit in the multiple hundred dollar range.
Video storage is a mistery.
I have a friend and his dumps the record every 24 hrs. He can change discs though. His is older.

IP cameras (also referred to as NetCams) can send live pictures to your phone or tablet, or store them on a web server (the 'cloud') for later viewing.  There's no limit to the ways you can configure them.  People use them for checking in on kids, pets, or just for security.  I have some pointing out of windows to check on the weather when I'm out riding.  If there's a thunderstorm at the house, I might stop by one of those establishments with all the Harleys parked out front.

They were pricey when they first hit the market, but not any more.  I saw some from D-Link at Micro Center the other day for $27.

I have the wireless system from Logitech.

I don't think they're making them anymore (don't know why....they're great and work even better), but you can still buy them from Amazon or eBay.

However, the prices on Amazon and/or eBay have gone crazy and are selling for triple what I bought mine for (just shows how popular they are/were).

Even for triple the price, I think they're still worth it.

Here's a whole bunch of videos about them.
