A few good articles on this subject,.....frankly it scares me to think my rights may/might be curtailed.

Generally only full patch bikers get hassled around here.  Which is fine with me, they're usually idiots anyways.  Most, but not all, motorcycle clubs in this ares are full of dirtlegs.  The more they hassle them, the less time they have to hassle me.  So thanks full patchers.

So you're OK with that?

Profiling is never justifiable without positive proof of wrong doing.

How would you feel if you were hasseled for wearing a vest with the VRCC patch?

Recently here in MI there was a womens riding club (Guilty Girlz) on their way to "Ohio Bike Week" stopped and ordered to remove their "GANG COLORS" or risk being jailed. One woman had a shirt with her club logo on the back, and told the cops she wasn't wearing anything underneath her shirt. She asked if it was alright to ride "topless'? The cops recinded and gave then their colors back and let them go.

Currently several motorcycle advocacy groups are working with local and State law makers to stop this harassment. The AMA is working with ABATE  and the CoC to help State and Federal lawmakers draft M/C anti-profiling bills.

If they can do it to them, then there is nothing stopping them from doing it to YOU.  If we don't protect EVERYONE's rights, we protect NONE.

Eventually, they will come for YOU.

Yeah, they already are. Take a close look at the Waco fiasco. Most of the arrested weren't even patch holders. They were just there.

First they came for the 1%'ers, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a 1%'er.

Then they came for the loud pipes, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a loud pipes type.

Then they came for the un-helmeted riders, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a un-helmeted rider.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

I would have loved o see her pull her shirt off and hand it to him,,of course she would have not to be the type to get embarrassed to eaisly..

Profiling is never justifiable without positive proof of wrong doing.

Needs clarification.

Are you saying that unless there is proof that a specific person committed a crime, that specific person shouldn't be profiled?

OR

Are you saying that if there is proof that a crime has been committed, then profiling of subjects who fit the description of the perpetrators is OK?

In my opinion, it's should be the second one.  If a convenience store is robbed and several witnesses agreed that it was a 6'4" white guy with a silly beard and cheesy mustache, I'd expect to to be stopped a questioned.  And with my full cooperation, I'd be on my way.  I do believe we all have our rights.  But I also believe that for the sake well being or the immediate circumstances, we could bend a little.  Instead of yelling and screaming at an officer I GOT MY RIGHTS and then bitch and moan and turn and walk away, I'll stand where he tells me, answer his questions, and then go home.  I may have been detained for doing nothing, but my chances of going home and not getting body slammed or worse, has lessened severely.

What Department would that be that pulled these girls over for wearing colors? I'd like to make a phone call if you know? Colors aren't a reason or probable cause to stop. Has to be something else to this.

I am because quite honestly it doesn't concern me.  I have never been stopped the the police on a motorcycle except when I was doing something 100% illegal.  So from my experiences, I could care less.
