Wher to get those short rubber CB/Radio antenas?

I got mine at Autozone.  The antenna is OK, but none of the adapters fit the Valk antenna mount.  I was able to drill out one of the adapters and tap it to fit the Valk.  Works great.

Hot rod ,please lt me know what you find in the way of an antenna. I've been following similar post. I maybe able to drill and tap one, or rig one . But I can't believe sombody dosent make what we are looking for in a direct replacment. Every website I go to has plenty of one and two foot replacements for the HD's.

Highbinder kept his OEM CB antenna.. And mounted it at the bottom of the saddle bag ..
You'll  need a splitter if you will drop it down to 1 antenna....
It looks good !!!




I have a shorty on my Black Valk and it sucks big time on the CB....
It looks good but has NO range...
It's a sierra ...

 I went with a 4 foot Firestik NGP antenna.
I want my little radio to listen and be able to talk back.
No really good place to mount a antenna on a Standard and all the mounts I found were for Wings so I had to get creative.

Being a Ham (KE5CQI) I have no concept of Form over Function. I am hanging a stake mount rearward off my luggage rack. The NGP antenna came with a spring that I exchanged for a quick release. Do not want to get wapped in the noggin with the antenna.

Check ebay. I saw several antenna/cb mounts there for Wings that probably could be adapted for an IS without too much work. Ranged from $5 to $85.

Question:

How much do you use your CB?
How much range do you want?
If you reply, like normal before I Super Valk'ed the bike,
then mount a fire stick or the original antenna on the saddle bag rack.

Rubber duckies as we call them are usually only good for short distance as they use the body, (metal) of the vehicle mounted on for it's range, Plastic is not a good conductor for the little Duckie.

Call & talk to Sierra Electronics for a good suggestion on an antenna, sorry, I have forgotten his name.  Tell them you want to talk to the head honcho that goes to all the Bike events........
