Today, in just over 4 hours my son will be graduating high school as the Valedictorian of a class of over 400 students.
He will be moving on to the University of Delaware to major in Bio-medical engineering.
For the last 10 years it has been an amazing ride with his grades and the compliments he has gotten from ALL his teachers, not just for his school work but for his personality and humble attitude.
As his dad he has achieved so much more than I could have ever hoped for, we all wish for the best for our kids and hope they do well, but he has far exceeded any expectations I could have ever imagined. He makes it all seem so easy, especially when it comes to math and science as well as his ability to remember everything.
Well enough gloating, I don't want to jinx the day, I just had to let some of the joy spill out.

Great to hear. Don't for one second think you didn't play an integral part in his success. Hopefully he can continue his academic prowess at the next level and go on to do great things in this world. God knows we need some help.

Good for him, and for you.
With all that's going on in our country today, we could sure use a lot more like him and his dad.

WOW, 400 students and #1 is pretty impressive. Congrats big time. I was #1 as well, but only 44 kids in our class, not so impressive, but worked extremely hard for it for sure as am sure your son did as well. Biggest reason I busted my butt for it was the 10K scholarship offered for Valedictorian to help pay for college. Nowadays some 25 years later, 10K barely covers a semester of college, not even that.
