...are the family members of the victims in the Charleston Church Massacre.  They have risen above lashing back in their pain.  Prayers to lift them above their grief and anger.

Have pondered this.

It seems that there are some crimes so heinous that it defies our Government, constricted by the Constitution, to mete out a punishment that is appropriate for the crime.
I believe this young man should be strung up and lowered slowly in a vat of boiling oil till dead. But that would be considered cruel and unusual.

Such the pity.

What should be done perhaps is for the city of Charleston to have an event a fair distance away from the courthouse that would require virtually all of their law enforcement personnel to work that event.
Meanwhile the state's attorney should announce that at 1pm they will drop all charges and release the young man out the front door of the courthouse.

I do believe justice will be served.

I tend to agree with you.  I said they have risen above, not me.

I'd like to see more "eye for an eye" punishments. Example - one young man set his ex-girlfriend's dog on fire - his punishment (if convicted) should be the same - except it needs to be the young man - not his animals. And drop that phrase "cruel and unusual punishment" - these animals do not deserve to be treated like a human. Too bad we can kill a murderer only once.... and that needs to be done much faster.

Why does that kid that killed those people in that church look exactly like that kid that killed all of those kids in that elementary school in Vermont?

Yeah I agree with an eye for an eye. Or worse in some cases. Maybe just maybe crime would go down and Lawyers would have to sell thier Bentlys.

Sandy Hook Elementary School
Newtown, Connecticut
20 children, 6 adults

Both are mass murderers in spite of what they looked like, but their commonality is that they violated two places that are pretty much "sacred and safe" in our society.
The shooter on trial in Colorado killed in a movie theater.

There are no safe places from evil or insane persons with guns any more; maybe there never were, but there are more disturbed, evil, and insane that have them in their hands.  They aren't afraid to use them and aren't scared of any consequences from using them.  This is a problem.

The zombies are real.

And yes, I too offer up a prayer for the souls of those taken so violently from those that loved them
Good people at prayer, taken. Cry

A part of this worthy of notice is that so many of the recent mass murderers (including Columbine Eric Harris, ‘Batman’ James Holmes and Sandy Hook Adam Lanza, and more) were on antidepressants or other kick-ass psychotropic drugs.... and they all attacked innocent, unarmed, risk free locations (as in cowards).

If you want to start a race war, why not go down to the toughest, most dangerous inner city neighborhood and try your luck down there (big man)?  Afraid of a little incoming?  You bet they are.
