to you all! Hope it was a good one!

Me, not so much, went down to basement freezer at 8 a.m. to get some bacon going. Looked up at the dryer vent hose and 3 feet away starring me in the face was a 2 foot snake resting on top. Scared the crap out of me, I HATE snakes, even a big garden snake.
Tried with gloves on tapping it with rake into a 20 gallon tote to NO luck, saw it slither 1/2 second later under the basement floor joists. I looked around and tapped all over hoping to see it move while the wife sat outside. 10 minutes later it was peeking it's head out from under the vinyl siding.
I guess if mice can get in under the siding, so can snakes?? I found out where it might have gotten in thru the cutout wooden hole around the round metal tube where the dryer vent goes out on bottom of house about 8" up from bottom of siding having a 2" opening on 1 side and 1" opening on other side of the cutout hole after removing the insulation along that floor joist.
HINT to all you building contractors = foam seal those darn exposed openings if cutout hole in wood is even a mere 1/2" bigger than the openings used for appliances. Which is what I did around 3 pm. today after I mowed the yard, hoping the snake was NOT in the basement again. Fast forward to 7 p.m. wanting to grill hamburgers. Saw it slither back in wasn't quick enough same area under the vinyl siding. Did not this time with insulation still out and expanding foam fairly setup after 3 hours drying see it in basement so I wrapped hard all over the floor joist a few times hoping he would go outside. 5 minutes later, the wife saw it come out under the vinyl siding into her plants along foundation. I grabbed my gloves, garden rake and shovel and by the time I did all of that, the 2 foot snake was 1/2 way up into the foundation again so quickly grabbed tail area, pulled HARD and whipped it 20 feet into the lawn and pinned it down with rake trying to bite me. Grabbed it after it settled down with gloves on (I am a WIMP and HATE snakes) and tossed it into 32 gallon trash barrel with lid on it. hauled it in back of truck 1/2 mile away into the creek/marsh area hoping to NEVER have that happen again. I doubt it can find it's way back home 1/2 mile away???
Good thing is the foam sealant one full can used will hopefully keep the snakes and mice from coming in since we always seem to get 1-2 mice every winter in that area as well under the kitchen sink area and guessing that is where they also come in during the cold winter months so hopefully all is well again and hopefully better. Still going to buy another can or two of foam sealant and see if I can spray a can or so up under the vinyl siding in that whole 5-6 foot area to keep critters from crawling up there again just in case that dryer vent holecut out of the wood is NOT where the critters are coming in.
Got hamburgers done, was going to sit down and enjoy some GREAT burgers with fried potatoes at 8 p.m. when I was going to sit in my lazyboy in living room, I saw behind the chair somehow all by itself the darn 4 foot tall plant tipped over making a mess all over the carpet. Said the HECK with the plant, ate my supper and finished cleaning it up by 9 p.m. tonight.
Pretty sucky Father's day, saw snake early morning in house basement, NO Valk ride, mowed the yard with push mower in the heat, and wrestled with same snake at 7 p.m. tonight, and cleaned up the darn plant dirt mess on our carpet (well sort of still a stain there cannot get out will try tomorrow night I guess again).
One of those days you just wish would end I guess?
