A friend of mine who happens to be a lawyer and a 7th day Adventist elder
invited me and a few other attorneys to speak to the congregation last evening
He spoke well and so did the pastor and the pastor got more than a few amens from me as he spoke about how the government is not our friend

The congregation was 100% black from many different countries  but mostly Jamaicans
Many of the elders and members
I have known for decades as the church is next door to my office   laugh
My topic was why you need a will, health care proxy and living will
I got lots of AMENS and fielded a lot of great questions
and enjoyed speaking about a topic that is important

The reason I am posting was I heard this one attorney speak as his topic was immigration

He went on about how great Obama is trying to fix the immigration problem and congress is so terrible while attacking those states who are republican and thought it was nervy of texas and arizona to want to stop people walking in    The congregation was only interested in how to help families stay together and it became shortly obvious his view was not shared as he got not one AMEN during his 20 minutes at the mike.

I would never refer a client to such a person and my wife agreed with me as I had brought her with me so we could go out for a great dinner afterwards in Yonkers.   In fact it was pretty funny as I was introduced as a friend who is Jewish and who had helped mentor him (I mentored many attorneys over the years) and who has ONE wife.   Bonnie laughed at that one.

There is certainly a disconnect within this country  whether it is SCOTUS itself usurping the states or
congress not being able to find its A$$ with both hands.

We all agreed that we need to pray for our country

I dont have the answers but I know a lot of the questions

I find it refreshing that blacks are beginning to realize our government is not their friend.

I've always pretty much blamed LBJ for the problem, but, maybe people will start to realize what has happened.

Since as Christians we are grafted in to the tree the same ones that the Jews belong to naturally why would they not listen? Glad it went well. I can only hope that people wake up before its too late O is already signing orders that were stopped in Congress basically forcing things through.
