I think there is a significant flaw in the cruel and unusual punishment clause in the Constitution. This is a case on point.

You made a really good point there. I just wanted to make a point, and show the mind sets that seems to making an impact on our future. People are devoting allot on energy towards removing flag controversy, and some not having respect for life. In the last year there has been aprox. three incident like that, I just try and understand what are they thinking. You don't learn if you don't ask!!

Nothing new here Dreamaker.  Criminals, psychopaths, dictators (and many politicians) are always about what's in it for me.  Any means justify the ends, and the hell with everyone else.  

Just humans being humans (a healthy percentage will always be defective units).

Lots of criminal defendants, facing 20 to life or a ride on the needle, with no chance whatsoever at leniency, have been known to thumb their nose at the court, society, and their victims.  Just another version of keyboard bravado; putting on a tough face.  

MI was one of the very first states to do away with the death penalty.... dummies.  Without a death penalty, the cruel and unusual clause of the 8th A doesn't even come into play.

Several SCOTUS Justices would do away with the death penalty if given the chance...... this woman should be sent to live with one of them.

A view count does not mean a count of how many people read the story.  No replies may have as much to do with your own credibility as with anyone's reaction to the story.  Reading the story does not mean anyone had anything to say regarding the story.

Approve of the woman's behavior?  Wow!  You do have a tendency to jump to a completely unwarranted conclusion and you have displayed repeatedly a complete lack of logic.

I took the time just now to read the story.  There is tragedy involved but it's a sort of non-story.  She's pled guilty.  The crime to which she pled guilty carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole.  She really shouldn't have been a mother, should she?  I hope her life in prison plays out as we expect it will.  I'm sorry the children to which she gave birth endured the experience to which they were subjected.

We, as a culture, have created a twisted world in which we all live, haven't we?  I'm glad I don't live in Detroit.

I seriously wonder why you felt you would pass this story of inhumanity (or extreme humanity) by the VRCC community and expect us to have something meaningful to say about it.  I am, by the way, in agreement with Moonshot.
