Wife works 'bout a mile from there! Very thankful that we were camping in Nc. when we heard. Said on radio today that one of the creeks had alot of dead fish & "water treatment" was underway, whatever that means.

After 30 years in Water Treatment, I'd guess they're adding large amounts of activated carbon to the creek.

Sorry to hear that...if it showing in the wells...that is BAD news for sure.

Mr. Whiskey, What do you know about the Seiverville Tn area? That is where we will be riding out of Saturday and Sunday.

You might be stuck in worse traffic than Atlanta, but GREAT riding is in
every direction after you break free...

Yeah, Mike's right, especially headed N. outta Sevierville on 66 toward I 40 (construction) or S. into Pigeon Forge (lots a redlights)!
Newport Hwy headed E. to Jones Cove Road on right will take you to the Eastern part of Foothills Parkway, it's pretty but short. You oughtta run the Gorge on I 40 but there's construction on it too, one lane each way near the Nc. line. There's also construction at the Douglas Lake bridge on I 40 between Newport & the I 40/I 81 split at Dandridge, sometimes this is backed up 5 miles or more in each direction (use 25/70 to avoid this). Hwy 92 between Dandridge & 411 at Bush Bean Plant is awesome but kinda short too. We always avoid Gatlinburg (use the bypass) but River Rd from Sugarlands Visitor Center back toward Townsend & the Western part of Foothills Parkway are a "must ride" & that section of the Parkway will put you on The Dragon! 441 over the mountain is also awesome & if you're goin' up there I highly recommend  Clingmans Dome! You don't even hafta hike up to the dome (1/4 mi. straight up) the view from the parking lot is stunning!
Have fun & holla if ya get lost, (gives me an excuse to come find ya, haha) (865) 973-6179.
