I can't believe they included that he wasn't wearing a helmet as if that would have affected the outcome.

And the expense of the autopsy is to determine if the fact that he was severed in half at the waist, or the impact with the tree, without a helmet, was the cause of death???

I suspect it was more to determine if alcohol or drugs were a factor.

It's easy enough to staple the two halves together, a helmet could have been the difference between an open or closed casket

Hat Trick: 1. Curb
               2. Telephone pole cable
               3. Tree

You did it right, son.  No doubt, no chance.   "St. Peter, I'm ready for my close-up."

Autopsy's are performed on all fatal victims in Michigan. Blood alcohol / drug screenings are done as well. Just covered one almost identical to this only the guy wasn't quite cut in half. Twice the legal limit BAC and high speed up hill. Hit the edge of a driveway in a slight curve at the top of the hill, air born into a speed limit sign, guide wire, and then a telephone pole. Bike stayed by the pole rider went another 60' down the road.
He was riding a HARLEY to, brand new Street Glide. But, I don't see where the brand of bike matters. He was wearing a helmet but it was ripped off his head. In both cases you can't fix stupid.

I should hope so. If they were doing autopsies on non fatal victims there would be some issues I would think. Cheesy
