If this is not classified as a hate crime, the it will be open season on white boys in Cincinnati.
Being in the Cincinnati area I have to say that this is the reason everyone needs a CCW.

I don't care what the motivation is ............
A crime is a crime and harsh punishments should be the norm when a person is harmed by another. I don't believe motivation needs to be visited or even presented. Punish them severely for the crime regardless.

Hate crimes is just another example of PC BS (smoke and mirrors, passing laws to look good, and to make your target voters like you..... when there are actually many more important issues needing dealt with)
Murder, rape, arson, robbery, aggravated assault, mayhem, etc have all been around for centuries and carry enough max punishment to lock you up forever or ride you on the needle. Come time for sentencing, the prosecution is allowed (expected) to put in and argue all evidence in aggravation relevant to the case for the judge or jury to consider before rendering sentence.
Hate crimes just adds additional element(s) the prosecution must prove to secure a conviction (for what?).
