Does anyone run IS pipes on their Standard? I have the Mark T pipes with crossover on my standard and they are just to loud for the old lady. I found a nice set of stock IS pipes and was just wondering if anyone is running them on their Standard and any comments anyone might have. Thanks.

They are all interchangeable.

It's just that the std has theirs mounted with the vertical exhaust tail, and the T and IS have horizontal ones to match the saddle bags.

Harv, why don't you ask MaekT if he can make or already has some silencers for the pipes on your bike?

I know when Steve K (IA) has them in his pipes it makes a hell of a difference.

I have followed  him with the silencers in and also out.

One has a Nascar rumble and the other is quiet like a mouse.

It would be worth a call in my book.

I ran Interstate pipes on my Tourer for almost a year... They're
the quietest of the OEM configurations. I'd still have them on
there, but one of my headers had a small dent in it, I eventually
found a pristine pair of Tourer/STD pipes, and put triple tips
on there (you could still get them then)...

I agree with RJ, contact MarkT.  :cooldude: My M2W pipes with silencers are quite pleasant. FWIW

Thanks for the replies.  I went the cheap route when I had Mark T modify my exhaust originally and didn't opt for the truck stacks or trombones. Just the glasspacks and crossover. I did buy some little silencers from him later but they don't quiet it down much at all.
I bought a set of IS pipes from my pal Kolsto. I plan to run them as is for the rest of the year and hopefully send them to Mark T for the full blown "Mild To Wild" mod this winter.
