Hey everyone. Just bought a Valkyrie a couple days ago, but I've been doing research on here for a while. I've had sport bikes and Harleys but wanted something better for touring now that the wife likes to ride.  Valkyries have always intrigued me and when I found one in the classifieds for a great price, I had to check it out.  It's a 98 Touring. It only has 40,000 miles .The owner had the entire service history from day 1 and it was really well taken care of.  One ride and I had to have it.  Beautiful bike.

Look forward to hanging out here and learning as much as I can. Great site.

Here's a pic of the new ride.

Thanks. I have nothing against Harleys, I still have one. I've actually been saving up for a Road Glide. But my kids are at the age of needing help with cars, university, etc, so saving up was taking forever. Saw the Valk, figured it would do us for the next few years. After riding it though, I don't feel at all like we "settled" with the Valk. One of those bikes I can see keeping a long long time. Love it.

Nice looking Valkyrie.    That makes two keepers.    The wife that likes to ride and the motorcycle to ride on.    cooldude   Yeah, we know that Valkyrie is one of the finest cruisers in the world and she's also very sexy looking.   Wink

Yeah, lucky to have a wife that likes to ride. It's our 20th anniversary in a couple weeks, she said the Valkyrie would be our anniversary present to each other.   Best. Wife. Ever.

Although that may be a trap and she's actually expecting something really expensive now.

Ya, you have to watch out for that.  sometimes I think marriage is like a deck of cards... at first you have a couple of HEARTS and a DIAMOND... and later you're looking for a CLUB and a SPADE...

Don't get her a really expensive vacuum cleaner..... man, that was a big mistake (at least it was too heavy for her to throw at me).

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

In an effort to build up some good Karma, or some would call it brown nosing, I've got a tank bib that came with my bike, I'll give it to the first person who says "I'll take it". Just message me your address and I'll mail it to you.  I took it off because I prefer to look at the big beautiful tank instead.  I'm sure someone would want I though.  And it never hurts to pay something forward because I'm sure I'll be on here needing advice on something.

Here's a pic.  It's in great shape, the pocket clips off.

Thanks. You're absolutely right. Probably like many of you, I dislike all the crap they put on bikes and cages now, traction control, electronic gadgets...this is just a big motor in a bike...and it's perfect. We just got back from a nice ride, I couldn't stop smiling. So smooth, so comfortable, quiet...able to have a conversation while riding. And when you want to get on it...wow.  Haven't ridden my Harley since I got it.

My only regret is that I waited this long to get one.

Yer on a Valkyrie-how can it be too FAR??????  2funny THAT particular piece of nomenclature no workee here!  Roll Eyes Sides-if you are the furthest from ground zero you win an award.  2funny I-15 was a bit over a thousand miles the way I ran up. I'm 70 years of age and I WAS NOT the oldest rider making the trip to Spearfish S D. Nor did I travel the furthest distance to get to I-15.  You only have to make one Inzane and then much like out M/Cs of choice-yer hooked!  Lips Sealed  RIDE SAFE.

2funny...ok you got me there. I've done 3000 km trips on a sport bike, so I'm not scared of a few miles, especially on the Valk.  More so a matter of getting the time. My son graduates next June...we'll probably be expected to go.  Grin
