The new models don't do much for us Valkyrie owners but those with more modest engines will be glad that they can enjoy the Digi Sync experience without spending so much jingle! the 2, 4 and 6 channel models all have the same accuracy, smooth steady readings and high resolution tachometer combined in a single unit.
I synched a GL1000 this weekend using the four channel model and it was a pleasure to do. The adjustment screws are backwards relative to our Valkyries but otherwise it was a very similar experience.
Many smaller engines are only equipped with screws that seal the intake vacuum ports. These screws must be removed and replaced with hose fittings for the vacuum lines of the Digi Sync. Both 5mm and 6mm straight threads are commonly used. I've found some extremely nice stainless steel adapters with captive o-ring seals for this purpose. The two and four channel Digi Sync models are available with 5mm or 6mm straight thread hose-barb adapters. These, hard to find fittings can be installed temporarily or left in place when used with vacuum caps. The 5mm adapters come with the Digi Sync. The 6mm adapters, additional 5mm adapters, and rubber vacuum caps are also available separately.
