I made it home without getting rained on any  cooldude , the main
clouds got stuck on the Cherohala and 68 was dry road after Tellico Plains.
I passed through several miles of wet road here and there all the way home, and it
never got hot because I was always on the edge of the storm...

Smoldering George called me up yesterday, said a bunch were going to meet
up for BBQ in Sweetwater Tn. and ride after. T-Bird was there, Whiskey, Greg,
Gordon, Rainman & Diana, Gavin & his better half, Bill & Trish, Jim and his wife...

I left out early to get there on time... it was nice riding while it was still cool.

Out of South Carolina and through the North Georgia Mountains...

Into North Carolina at Clay County...

And then Tennessee...

When I get to Tennessee on this route, I like to take this pig-trail short-cut
that Joe told me about...

Then onto 68 and up to Sweetwater... When I was almost to Tellico Plains
I came up behind the most awful backfiring Harley I ever heard... after
a mile or so I pulled off and let them get on down the road in order to avoid
permanent hearing loss  coolsmiley

Here's where we met up, I got there about two minutes before others started
showing up...

I wish I could remember what this guy was saying...

I know Joe took some actual pictures of all of us, I only have the gopro ones...

Glad you're home safe & dry cooldude
Not sure about Rainman & Gavin but we were all dry when they split North.
Greg rolled direct for home from Spring Hill.
Jim & Suzanne with Bill & Trish cut out West from Roosevelt Mountain Overlook.
Joe, Gordon, & I cut through the woods to Wartburg & only got wet for about 60 seconds, was kind refreshing with this heat.
Good friends, good roads, good ride!

I don't blame y'all one bit... it worked out though... I had a great ride, about 7
hours total and none of it hot until I rolled down the final hill into Westminster SC...

Post some of those people pictures from the BBQ joint, I forgot
to take any...
