On the news this morning, Some gas stations charging $6+ for gas. They are crazy. If I had to pay that I'd have to start riding my bicycle.

I can easily find it for $2.69 around here, with diesel (for my 2 VW TDIs) going for 10 cents more.

$60 per barrel for crude... $6 per gallon for gas. That's some BAD taxes right there.

$2.50-.55 in the Orlando area for regular with 10% junk fuel added. A bit over $3 for non-ethanol where you can find it.

Considering we are now a oil exporting country and the price per barrel being so low we should have gas prices about 1.50 per gallon. Especially when we heard so much about the price of crude raising our gas prices at the pump when things went up. Its really pretty amazing out of that crowd now we hear crickets chirping when we should hear about gas going down. http://www.thehoopsnews.com/2015/07/13/6762/california-gas-situation-is-getting-bleak/WOW I didnt hear of this only in California The California gas situation is bad. It isn’t just bad though, it’s beginning to enter potentially catastrophic territory. On Friday alone, it was reported that the average price of a gallon of unleaded gasoline in California jumped $0.09. However, prices jumped again on Saturday a whopping $0.13, which sparked even more outrage. The problem is that there is an overwhelming shortage of the California specific gas blend, which suppliers say there is none headed out this week – as of now. The gas prices aren’t at all consistent, either. The survey found that one station could be running a price of $3.72, but at a station next door, the price could be $4.30. The incredible part of the entire story is that the major problem is California specifically. As the U.S. has cut down its dependence on foreign oil, the same can be said for California. Prices have been dropping, and so has demand. That though has now reached an apex and the problems are now plentiful.

I have to wonder what's causing gas prices to spike here in the Midwest. Oil is down yet gas prices just keep climbing. It seems that there's four seasons in the gasoline market: "The seasonal blend is more expensive to produce", "It's hurricane season", "The refineries are doing maintenance", and "It's peak demand driving season". When oil hits $100+ a barrel again we're going to be seeing $5, $6, or $7 a gallon easily.
