I got the opportunity to take a field trip last week to a customer in New Hampshire. Our goal was to finish the installation of a Quadco head on a new 853M tracked feller buncher. This machine had a lot of custom hydraulic routing done for this processing head. It was an experience to see the unit come to life on the assembly line, make it to the dealer, then delivered to the customer as it murdered it's first tree.

The 5660 series quadco head is a stationary processing head, it has the aspects of a harvesting (cut to length type) and felling head. This was the first of our new machines to have this installed. Many local loggers in the area came out to see it in action. I believe we solidified about 3 more sales for this type of setup. At around 500K per machine, business is good  cooldude

This was a Nortrax Deere dealership located in Pembroke NH. The had another 853M unit on the lot waiting for delivery. So far they have sold 3 since the beginning of production back in January.

You should think of it as regenerating an old forest to a young healthy forest..  Old one has captured the all the dreaded CO2 it can, a new one to collect that much more.   2funny 2funny

Reb, that is a cool machine.   Haven't seen a feller/buncher that could also delimb, cut to length, and stack.
