that this board doesn't seem the same any more.  It's probably me because I no longer ride.

Except for a few members,  it looks more like a winter board but without the PMS.

 I probably will taper off.

Please don't give up on this board. Your perspectives are always appreciated.
This board is a "sand box" and we are like the kids arguing about who is "right" without knowing why we are truely arguing about. We are all the same, yet we believe that the other is (somewhat) wrong.

Please keep up your personal stories and opinions,.....we need to hear (read) them.

Nothing ever stays the same. At least that is what I have found, and time marches on. If it stayed the same forever it would soon become boring.

Like all forms of collective communication, it is what we make of it. While I am definitely of getting down and rolling in the mud with the best of 'em, I've been trying to make a point to also participate in the non-mud slinging stuff too but really, it is what we make of it, if ya' don't like one type, make another and see where it goes... (Like this one Wink )

I own and operate a Goldwing forum and I can tell you, whiners are everywhere. They are not unique to this or any other board. You have to look for the "good" folks and follow them.

Solo1,  It's not the same, but what is?  I enjoy your posts, pics and stories and they're a big part of why I still come here.  I, for one, would hate to see you go!

Heck, I don't even know you and I haven't been around here near as long as most, still, I enjoy your posts.

I find participation hard most times so I just read and move on.

Don't get me wrong!   The board is not bad, just different.

Still a great bunch of riders, both male and female. (Well maybe not the Detroit Guy that uses the word 'geezers'.  Smiley Only geezers are supposed to use the word' geezers'  Grin Grin Grin)

As for change, no one has to remind me of the changes that have taken place since 1928.

Dont cut back.
The young ones need the grizzled geezer types to tell stories of the old days.
You know, like when nobody thought of putting a car tire on a motorcyle, and what type of oil didnt matter.  (Atctually thats not true, I had a 1928 Henderson that had car tires.)
Oh white bearded wizened old one, the Miata stories prime us for trails we shall surley tread and bridges we must surley cross.
Without the presence of our beloved SOLO1, it truly wouldnt be the same.
Who would take up the reins and be SOLO2?

Wayne, You are an old guy with a history and an interesting one at that. We all need your input. You sound a little down right now or am I reading you wrong? Maybe you are just voicing your thoughts and observations.....I don't know. Somebody close to Wayne needs to go over  there and slap him out of it. LOL LOL LOL  Please, no one do that.

Yes the board has changed, but we are coming up on another presidential election and everyone is ready to get rid of what we have and hopefully get someone better in. The confederate flag is another issue but ultimately goes back to the representatives of this country. This is also the general board. if i wrote about all of my rides everyone would get sick of reading about them. We just did a 1300 mile ride down through kentucky, virginia, north carolina, and tennessee last week. I'm sure rainman will be posting about it in the next couple days. I was even in on seeing t-bird. I use to write about the rides i took but they never got much attention so i quit. Actually the board is kinda boring these days, i remember opening posts that had pretty girls in them, but we got our hands smacked and told no more. I guess they expect us to act like civil human beings while we are here  Grin

Wayne,

It has changed a lot since I joined many years ago.  I don't post often, too busy working.  I have seen ups and downs, politics and lots of BS.   I post in bursts, several for a period of time, then I move on, just watch, then I come back and post again.   I have been doing just that the last few days.  Working on a Bluetooth project, asking questions, even buying a new Valk tool/toy.

I have yet to make it to INZANE, just can't seem to coordinate it.  I have made a couple of events, and enjoyed them.  Haven't seen the New Mexico event in a few years, would go again if it were put together.

Our bikes are getting older, we still own one of the best bikes that was ever made, but many are trading them off for newer bikes.   I looked the other day at Hondas new line up.. Not my cup of tea.

I will keep the old I/S.  It has earned its place.  Not sure what I will buy next for a new bike.  I am waiting to see if the rumor about a new Yamaha Royal Star Venture is true.  If not, probably an Ultra.

I enjoy reading your posts.  they offer insight into better times.   But one thing I have noticed is that a lot of the original posters from years back have moved on to other bikes or ???

Don't run off, the board has changed, but so has everything.  I see many things that I didn't think would happen in my lifetime.

Who knows, I may actually get to do a decent trip on my bike this year!!  It will be a first in several years.

Yeah it is different

But I thinks its kind of like high school reunions

The folks I want to see at IZ or GOTF or a Joe ride or during the year are the ones that I have met or corresponded with over the years   The bonus is meeting new folks each year

It was a pleasure seeing you again Wayne and hope you do what works for you.  But I hope you stick around to show how the greatest generation would do things. And RJ and Stuffy and Master Blaster and others too for that matter

In the meantime enjoy the Miata and getting chased by women in Indiannner

I think all forums are changing as a result of Facebook, love it or hate it, that's where it's at.

The more dedicated seem to keep the forums going and you don't get all the idiots on a forum that you do on FB..

So Wayne where are ya gonna go, hm, huh, hm? Hang around and contribute.  cooldude  Not having a Valk means absolutely nothing and you have the knowledge to be a part of the board. I even think there are guys on here that ride "HARLEYS".   cooldude  (I said that word)  Hell, some of these guys even like you!   Roll Eyes  Everything from oil to spark plugs usually ends up political in some aspect anymore. More so than in the past. Thats is one of the things I've noticed and those usually result in a name calling event. Someone always bitchin about libs, democrats or republicans, some political group. These are only some of the things I've noticed and yes, I see changes to and I haven't been here all that long.
