Anybody heard from him, know anything about him? Mike Kessler from Phoenix, formerly a fellow Floridian. Haven't seen a post by him in ages nor have I rec'd. any emails. I have some fond and humorous memories of a couple trips taken together. Anybody????

John, it might be as simple as a computer crash and then getting set up again. Maybe he lost all his email contacts. Maybe a new internet provider with new email address. Google him and reestablish contact with him. Facebook?

I'll give it a shot. I do have to tell a story on him and since he's not on here to defend himself......  Grin
Some years back the two of us rode up to InZane in Paducah together, a long hot ride that year. He had previously told me about his new fangled latest state-of-the-art GPS that cost him some major bucks. Guaranteed to take us where we needed to go. Coming into Nashville from the SE on I-24, I was leading and started to take the road that led off to the right slightly but more or less straight ahead. He flashed his lights and honked, waving me to go to the left which he soon discovered was the loooong way around the city. We soon jumped off and pulled into an office bldg. parking lot and asked a young gal for directions back to I-24. Really simple.....take the street she pointed to, down to a certain corner and go left, immediately get in the right lane because the "ON" ramp was "right there." That route eventually leads back to I-24 on the north side of the city. So off we go....down the street, left into the right lane, I turn onto the ramp and looked around.....there goes Mike sailing on down the street. Oh good grief, can't that boy take directions? I got on the outer belt (440 I think), rode a couple miles but no Mike in the mirror, so I pull over near an underpass and wait. About 15 min. later I see his red/white tooling along at a leisurely pace and as he approached I see this big goofy grin. "I just wanted to tour that part of the city." UH-HUH!  So off we go.....AGAIN, and finally pick up I-24 and headed for Paducah. When we get off at Paducah, Mike is leading into the city and along various streets when we realized the bldgs. were getting rather scarce. He stopped, looked at his GPS, slapped his forehead and we turned around. After more riding around(touring the city), we found our destination....more by accident than by design.

But that's not the end of it. A year or so later we rode up to Panama City for one of the gatherings there. Mike again told me of his even more expensive NEW GPS that could walk, talk, and make small change which almost guaranteed us to not get lost.....again. So, coming into Panama City he takes the lead with his electronic marvel, and again we're taking a tour of the city, including some deadend streets, some areas that made me glad it wasn't after dark, etc.  I finally insisted we pull into a gas station and ask directions, which led us to our destination in short order.

I've never let my friend Michael K live it down. I told him after that last go 'round that when it came to a GPS and what he paid for each one, he got us lost for a lot less money the first time in Paducah.  Grin
