Audiovox Cruise Control Servo location

After having the kit from Murphy for over a year, I have finally gotten down to desmogging the Valk, putting an a Dan-Marc, and installing the Cruise Control.

The only instructions I found, with lot's of pictures, shows the servo located where the tool kit would go, behind the battery. Trouble is, I have a relay board I made, with 4 or 5 relays, to run the tail/brake/running lights, and can't find anywhere else to put that board.

My question is, has anyone found an alternate location for the servo, suitable for a standard or tourer, than in the battery box? I saw one photo from Kingbee, but looks like it's under the fairing on an Interstate.

MC Cruise puts their vacuum servo in front of the battery, behind the centre cover.

Mine is down where the pair valve used to be. After your desmog there should be plenty of room.

Thanks, gents - finally found a picture of where the McCruise is located. And I had thought about where the PAIR valve was removed, but since I don't have the Dan-Marc fuel shutoff installed, wasn't sure about fitment there.

Which brings another question - Meathead, are you using a vacuum cylinder, and if so, it is positioned down in the valley, also?

No vacuum cylinder on mine. It has a line to each #3&4 . Works great

I had the same problem, no room to put the actuator under the seat, so I mounted it here :-


Then I fashioned a cover out of plastic gutter downpipe, with a cap at the upper end:-


It's a tight fit, but has worked flawlessly for over 8 years in all weathers.

For the vacuum chamber, I fashioned this out of 1-1/4" plastic waste pipe:-
and fixed underneath the swingarm.
