That should give you all something to do for a few minutes.  ;D

Hi John, I've been working, looking at a front flat tire, selling a old car, renting a car for the weekend, cooking, doing house work, getting a new cable box and now taking time for a coffee and say Hi to you before I clean the kitchen and finish washing clothes.  :cooldude:  But other that, doing nothing.  ;D   hope your doing well and I see you before the end of the year.    :-*

Taking a 30 min break before I sync a set of carbs, always busy busy. This blasted heat, cannot work very long before taking a time out.

#3
Got a call from the CO at 4something am that I need to meet the fire trucks at work. Normal traffic drive 45 done in 22 min. One lug on air handler #2 decided not to feed one leg anymore

Blew caps off of 6 PC boards that control 6 hvac zones took out fire relays (the photo smokes worked!) but some how the motor survived!   Still dealing with 3 vendors 95% up and adjustable one zone is full on winter!  Thankfully no one is in that zone (off season)   Ill bet Grumpy or Todd have stories like this.

Here was last years fun

outside during a light drizzle  Used the 7600v gloves on this one   Zap Zap  Yep that is water in that there hole!

Wow Jerry, that looks like the first radio I built when not yet a teenager. It worked great....for about five minutes. The only thing that didn't melt was the metal base.  ;D

Deb, if that old duffer is retired you should make him do some of that housework.  ;)  As for crossing paths before year's end.....soon as I come out of hibernation from the heat I'll be stirring/riding more.

Bill, I installed a single vent in the garage for heat/air and have two good sized fans. With that I still have to limit my time when the temps go up. If I drop the thermostat any more I get static from the other half....and she always wins. Can't figure that out!!!   :cooldude:  Re. the 1200, it was really running erratic so after much fidling with the carbs, I pulled them again and pulled off the bowls. Lo and behold, the top half of the #4 main had vibrated loose and dropped into the bowl. The slow jets were plugged(again) on a couple cylinders and almost on the others. So, boiled them in distilled water for about 40 minutes then blew them out. All clear. Reinstalled everything and cranked it up....what a difference. I hadn't run it for a few weeks while doing other stuff and figure that helped clog things up again after the rebuild. Now, the cold blooded old thing fires up with the slightest bump of the starter....no choke, but use it to smooth it out. Once warmed up, if you try to use the choke it will die. Good throttle response so I guess it's time to start on the forks.

If that was 3 phase, tend to do nasty stuff when one leg is lost.  We had a couple legs short on the main supply to the long term garage several years ago. When it arced, a 8 foot piece of 8in steel conduit disappeared. We thought a bomb went off. Glad I don't have to rewire that A/C unit, going to be a job for some one.

That Damm ethanol can really screw up stuff in a hurry, and now they are trying to shove 15% down our throats.  That is funny the jet falling out, had that happen years ago on  Suzuki Hustler,  took a while to figure out why it ran so bad.

B-O-Y  Brown orange yeller, yep 480 3 phase to a 30hp motor - the sad part was if the disconnect was in it own separate box (as it is NOW!)  I would have saved about 10g

I've gone into a state of confusion ! :crazy2:

That 3-phase power reminds me of when I was stationed at Loring AFB in northern Maine. It was a new missile squadron and we had two complete mockups for troubleshooting the various systems....and they ran off 3-phase. Our local "genius" was told to leave it alone until the factory reps got there so they could set it all up, the missile had the same inertial guidance system the latest nuclear subs had at that time. But no.....Sgt. Moriarity thought he knew best and commenced to hook it up and fire up one mock up. You would have thought it was the 4th of July in the shop! It took a complete rebuild and never did work righ after that. At one point later on, he apparently thought I had done something that was insubordinate to him and started to come down hard on me. I finally got tired of listening to his mouth and told him he needed to lay off....I was still waiting to blow up my first mock up when advised against doing anything. Never heard another peep out of him until the day I was discharged.  ;D

One grandson staying with us for a few days and 3 more grandkids that spent the day for a total of 4.  I probably don't need more of an explanation than that.  :)

I remember a funny thing several years ago, we replaced the shop air compressor in our maint bay.
The electricians ( I use that term loosely) at the airport installed the breakers, contactor and control box, it was a 40 horse direct drive 3 cylinder compressor.  After taking 3 days working on it with 4 men they fired it up, and guess what, it ran backwards. And not a dam one knew how to fix it. Came up with the excuse some thing must be bad in the motor. I opened the panel and swapped 2 of the wires, problem fixed. They could not believe that fixed it.  Hmm, government + Union employes. No wonder we are in trouble.
