After 1 year with Liberty Mutual on all 3 newer vehicles at a very good price,  they come back just this weekend online and see the premium went up 366 bucks this yearly renewal due mid August. OUCH!!!

I called and complained and all they said was not me at all, but more claims in WI have to pass that onto the customer base.

I told them B.S. on that one to have a 25% rate increase after first year and will be looking elsewhere starting on Monday with a few leads thru AAA and Allstate, among others.  I feel like even if 20 bucks higher or even more with other insurance company, to say the heck with Liberty Mutual for pulling the old bait and switch with me.  I have NO tolerance for scammers who offer a great rate first year, get the shaft the second year. Each of the same 3 newer vehicles went up over 110 bucks per year thru no fault of our own accord - OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I could find ONE insurance company who rewards their loyal paying customers with NO accidents or claims EVER year after year,  it will be a miracle.   The days of being a loyal customer with any insurance company doesn't exist apparently.    Over the phone today, they said what about adding home insurance to lower car insurance.  I said I tried that last year and their home rates apples to apples were double of most other local insurance companies so why bother.    tickedoff

I feel like writing a letter to the President of Liberty Mutual stating how dishonest those commercials are on TV with the black guy preaching the B.S. of how Liberty Mutual rewards loyalty and all that B.S. with accident forgiveness and new car full replacement for their loyal customers.

Yet again, going to have to waste 2-5 days B.S.ing with multiple agencies all over again.  I have switched probably 7 times in the past 12 years or so since NO insurance company keeps rates reasonably priced for very long whether it was 6 months or 1 1/2 years.   They can talk all the B.S. all they want to over the phone, I am not drinking their kool-aid any longer.   tickedoff   I tell them the way it is and if they don't like it,  the heck with them all.   uglystupid2

I think you might have your lines crossed a little.  Liberty mutual is supposed to have that "accident fogiveness" policy... Not sure how true it is.... But the "black guy" who I think you are referring to is actor Dennis Haysbert and is the commercial spokesperson for Allstate insurance.  He advertises a "Safe Driver Refund" for every 6 months of safe driving.  I don't know how true that is either since I've been playing back and forth with Progressive, Geico and Amica as the policy rates change when it comes due.  I just shop around for apples to apples for my 2 bikes and 2 autos.

I had the same experience with progressive on my bikes about 10-12 yrs ago. I selected them because they were less than half their nearest competitor for the same policy well you guessed it after year 1 it doubled but I stayed because it was still a bit cheaper than any other I could find. Then after year 2 same thing doubled again tickedoff I found it somewhere else Dont remember who but went to progressive office and ask WTH agent told me they were getting out of MC insurance business  uglystupid2 so after a couple years I kept getting mail wanting me back so when 2nd ins went up I called and went back to the once again cheaper than any other but this time it didn't go up the way it did before, yes it has increased a bit over the years but no drastic.

It's all a freakin racket. After I got whacked Progressive wanted to double my bike insurance. They didn't total the bike and should have. Agent was a dork and knew nothing of bikes. Everything is good as long as nothing happens and they get their money. But, if they have to pay hang on to your junk. I changed companies too on my bikes, and when the prospective company did the numbers after adding my home owners I found out that there was only $32.00 a year difference from my existing policy. I can piss that away at dinner. So thehomeowners stayed where it has been for over 20 years. I shop on ocassion but no one can beat my home owners insurance and I insure 3 properties. They all suck!

We have been with State Farm for many years and have an agent that cares about us. An agent is , I believe , half of the battle. Our rates have barely moved in six years. We were in two accidents and our insurance paid for one  (second was someone else's fault) , First one we could have won if we wanted to fight.  I had Progressive ad Haggerty. Better coverage and rates with S/F.

Check out USAA, I have had them for 40 years+, and they have a subscribers savings account that pays you back a substantial amount yearly.  But they don't do motorcycles.  They are very good and will not try and stick it to you on claims, and they won't drop you like some of the others.  Worth it to me to insure autos and home with them and shop around for motorcycle elsewhere.  Currently I am with GEICO liability only on two motors for 100 bux a year for both.  Did this as due to health problems not able to ride but still wanted to keep both bikes licensed and available if things improved and I could catch some wind.

My bike insurance has been going down each year, as has my deductible due to no accidents. I've been with them for over 10 years so get the same coverage for less each year. Premium is under $200 for full coverage and extended to cover accessories added on. As for home/auto insurance, I've been with AAA for a few years now and just got my new quote starting August 31. It's down over $100 from last year, we get a discount for repeated customer, AAA membership, being of senior age, and a couple other things I don't recall. With the pool we carry somewhat higher insurance even though it's screened in. We do get a healthy discount for what is called a "wind mitigation report"(well over $1k) which I guess is prompted by the state due to our hurricanes. Costs about $200 for someone to come and examine the structure, see how the studs & rafters are tied in and fastened, type of fasteners, type of shingles, etc. I talked to Liberty Mutual and they gave me a decent quote but said I needed a new mitigation report since this one was just over the five year limit. I asked why, we've had no hurricanes or suffered any sort of damage so nothing has changed to the structure. He said it's the law so I asked whose law.....the State's or his company. As for USAA, the quote I got from them was so far out of line I didn't even respond to it. My wife's former daughter-in-law works for them so I asked her about why so high, she's a good employee for sure. Got nothing but outlandish reasons and excuses. After shopping around the last six weeks, looks like I'll stay with AAA for another year.

Yah,  it seems like we all have had that bait and switch B.S. with various insurance companies in various states.

I just want to find one insurance company in this world who values good paying,  clean driving records for life (knock on wood), and values longevity staying with ONE company forever.

Since you buy nothing but japanese vehicles, why don't you contact an insurance agent in japan?

I had the same crap with Liberty Mutual, insured for 10 years with them, seems like every year rates would go up. Have to get on the phone with my agent and dicker with him and would get a rate drop. No accidents on the policy. Final straw, Florida had a hurricane relief fund that was added on to the policy each year, usually a little over $70.  Last year Florida dropped the charge in January, my policy was up for renewal in March, and they added the Hurricane charge to it. When I questioned them, they said the policy was figured before Jan (WTF) so they were still adding it, I told them to stick it where the sun don't shine. Went with Allstate, 2 vehicles, 1 rv and the bike. Came out to over $450 less per year. And I did not have the bike on the Liberty policy, it was insured with Markel.

I don't speak Japanese, nor Korean since Hyundai is a Korean, not Japanese, company.   Grin

Don't want to get into a pissing match on if the Big 3 so-called American companies are any better nor worse than Hyundai, Kia, Honda, or Toyota, etc.

After 3 hours of calling around,  Geico came back very reasonable much to my surprise over AAA, Allstate, and Progressive, etc..  on all 3 vehicles.  Pays to shop around.  I just hope in 6 months I don't have to go thru all this B.S. all over again and insurance companies stand behind their original quote vs. a 25% rate increase next renewal premium.  They also were a tad better on price than Allstate on my 2 cycles that I have had with them over 6 years now.  Not sure a 20 dollar savings in 1 year premium is worth switching the cycles since Allstate has been consistent with their cycle premiums and Geico come next year may not and then having to switch cycles yet again as well.  tickedoff

I get the
aarp ,"we will save you hundreds on your insurance" bs in the mail. I finally got my policy and rates and called. Exact comparison , The were $280.00 to $400.00 higher than State Farm. When I told the agent the numbers , He basically called me a liar. I hung up and now I  just toss the aarp info in the recycle.

Yep, jap crap. I buy whatever I like no matter where it is made or where the money ultimately returns to. One brand I wont ever buy is "HARLEY"   Evil yep, I said it.

I switched to progressive 2 years ago from farm bureau and went from $500 a year to about $240 a year. Has not gone up a penny, yet.

Check out USAA, I have had them for 40 years+, and they have a subscribers savings account that pays you back a substantial amount yearly.  But they don't do motorcycles.

I agree and highly endorse USAA.   I've been with USAA for almost as long as Master Blaster and have shopped and compared their coverage with many companies over the years.   No one can touch their rates and service.    Have a good friend who is a State Farm agent, many folks in the area swear by State Farm.   Had him look at my policy and rates, he told me straight up there was no way he could match the coverage for the same cost.

The only caveat is, I believe you must have served in the US military or, be a family member of someone who served and had USAA insurance to get their coverage.   May have changed but, wouldn't hurt to check it out.   Master Blaster is correct about the motorcycle coverage but, I thought they would insure bikes from 750 down.   Obviously, our fat girls are a tad bit over that.  Wink

USAA eligibility:
https://www.usaa.com/inet/pages/pub_eligibility_task_entry?adid=icgsch87287103-VQ6-71054853852-VQ16-c-VQ14-75430132&akredirect=true

Last I heard, USAA subs all bike insurance out to Progressive, and I wouldn't do business with them at any price.
https://www.usaa.com/inet/pages/insurance_motorcycle?SearchRanking=2&SearchLinkPhrase=motorcycle%20insurance

The problem I had with USAA when they offered their own bike ins, is they would not let me vary my high car coverage, to (minimum liability and uninsured only) low bike coverage.  So, I've been with Geico with no complaints for years.

USAA will not always be the cheapest coverage you can find, though they do reward longevity and good driving records and are very reasonable, and they do not play games raising rates for no reason like many others.  But you will not find a company that treats you better as a customer when you need them.  They will dot the I's and cross the T's with top notch investigators if they think you are a cheat, but otherwise they treat you like family.  They are much cheaper on my homeowners (than anyone), including full rebuild coverage.  Overall, I am so happy with them, I would pay more for their coverage (up to a point) than others if I had to, but I don't have to.  Not counting the wife, I have not had a claim for coverage of any kind in 30 years (except I might have gotten a windshield once) .

That is really good rates I can see that on 3 bikes, but not 4.  My Allstate agent here in WI for my 2 bikes said the mininum charge per cycle is 85 bucks bare mininum charge.  One is 100, the other 120 per year full coverage.  Having 4 bikes full coverage with Allstate at 305 per year is a steal of a deal.

Allstate does have some good rates on cycles that I know have had them for 6 years now and pretty darn steady (NO rate increase really to speak of) unlike most car and home insurance companies I have dealt with every year or so.

Yah, I tried USAA and told them my father, who died in 2008, was a Korean War Vet.   They said he has to be alive for me, his son, to qualify.  Oh well, worth a shot.
