My "Mid-life Crisis "

Indiana

« on: July 20, 2015, 09:23:57 AM »

Wife texts me from a yard sale Saturday morning  , a pic of a beautiful Yellow 2001 Goldwing with a matching trailer , owner asking $6000.00 .. she wants to know if i think this is a good price...am I being tested ??? I ask if she is thinking we should get it , just to test the water with her...she says  yes...I said offer him $5000.00 , she does and he counters at $5500.00...went as fast as I could to the credit union to get cash and put it in his hand before I wake up from this dream !!! I LOVE MY WIFE !!! PICs soon !!!Only a crazy man would have passed this up.

And gratz!

Heads up though, wasn't the 2001 in scope for the frame recall? Might wanna check on that just to be safe.

Never said miles as well.  If 150K miles, then 6 grand is about right.  If pampered though under say 65K miles, you done good.  I haven't seen a used 2001 Wing under 7500 yet ever.  Even the ones with 60-90K still want 8 grand.

I do know for some reason the yellow ones seem to sell for less than the other colors probably being more popular, but if you want to stand out and visible, hard to beat yellow.

Your wife is VERY nice indeed pointing out that great buy on a Wing.   A keeper for sure, you will owe her multiple favors for spotting such a great steal of a deal.

Just make sure that frame recall was done before buying.

103,000 on the clock...not sure on the frame recall...guy I bought it  from is the original owner , he has a mountain of paperwork on it and what little I have gone thru , I did see a paper on a recall but didn't read it , I now will.Everyone in town knows this guy and were shocked that he sold it cause it was his pride & joy... physically he just can't ride anymore.

Called Lake City Honda where it was purchased new , they ran the VIN and every recall issued has been done to the bike , including the frame.

Never realized the big difference between a car tire and a MC tire till I got off this wing and onto the Valk...it's like 2 very different animals...the Valk you have to push a bit and the Wing kind of handles with ease , loosy - goosy style....definitely difficult to get right off of one onto the other..but love them both !!

Great Deal! And if all the service work has been done at Lake City its an added bonus. Won't even think about anyone working on my bike unless it is Lake City. Been doing business with them since my V65 Sabre in 1985.  cooldude
