If you are talking about a new truck, I'd bet the aluminum body has caused it. Repairs at a body shop will drain a wallet for sure.

Regardless of the steel vs aluminum argument, I'm just not feeling the love for the new designed F150.  They sorta look kinda.....Dodge-ish.

I really like the Ford F150 and plan on buying one once the wife's Accord is paid off, but I'm just not warming up to the new style/design yet.

I wonder anyone on here has bought a new f150 aluminum body yet?  Maybe 1-2??

Darn things are so expensive,  not many can afford it since these pickups are now one of the most expensive vehicles on the market to purchase.

Never thought I'd spend over 30K on a new vehicle of any kind, but in 2014 it happened - OUCH!!

I'm a Ford man just because it was what I grew up with as my dad and older brother were master tech mechanics for Ford, But that is a funny commercial. Knew where it was going immediately when they got in the room.  2funny

There is at least one here that has purchased a new one.
The couple folks I know that have bought them are complaining about their increase in insurance supposedly because of the new body. Just wondering if it was state thing or nation wide.

You can be pretty sure that scumbags will start stealing them for aluminum scrap value too.  You might come out of a restaurant to find your nice new truck with no bed.  I'll bet two guys with cordless impact guns could have one of those beds off and in the back of their truck inside of 5 minutes.

Aluminum v steel.
I've had cars made of both. I like the aluminum ones, in fact, I wish I still had them.
But, I disagree as usual.
The hardest frame I've ever pulled, including equipment and heavy trucks, was on a ZO6 Corvette. Tempered aluminum is tough stuff.

It is time NOW to start shopping around, you will find better rates that I can almost guarantee.  The days of staying loyal to one insurance company for life are long gone.  My idiot brother does not shop around has had American family for over 20 years now and when he told me how much his car insurance was on his much older vehicles and home insurance with American Family, my jaw dropped and told him if I was paying that much,  I would have switched years ago.  No wonder why he is broke, besides having a spendy wifey.

2014 was the first year I have ever spent over 30K on any vehicle, a new 2014 toyota tundra SR5 double cab 4wd (mid-level trim at best).  Most of that was due to less rebates than prior years since new re-design in 2014.  Apples to apples,  the toyota tundra is now, by far, the cheapest 1/2 ton on the market vs. chevy, ford, dodge.

You still can buy a 1/2 ton truck new for under 30K, but it almost has to be the base model no ext./crew cab and stripped down pretty well and probably not 4wd either.

Went from a 2012 F250 to a 2015 F150 (both Lariats & same options) and the premium went up $16 for the year. No complaints from me. I always get a quote from my agent before I change vehicles.

Not too many replies to the question, but, from the few maybe it is a state/region thing.
