Got in to a heated debate with someone over "white privilege". I gave example after example of how there is no such thing and then I finally asked the person to define it. After a lot of head scratching I was told that there are things people have to overcome that white people don't in order to succeed. And that's why whites are privileged. After some thought, I could only think of one thing that is different between whites and everyone else, skin color. What else is there???
People believe that the color of their skin is something they have to overcome. It's a shame that they feel this way. And when asked for an example of this happening to them, they have none, but say they hear it happens to others. Do they know of anyone in their life that this has happened to? "No, but you can't say it doesn't happen." was the reply.
Asians do better than whites. Is there Asian privilege?
