Beautiful east Tennessee ( GOD'S Country )

« on: July 23, 2015, 06:13:08 PM »

My ridin' bud Paul ( Wimp ) and I plan on riding out Saturday morning from the Knoxville, Tennessee area. We plan to ride over toward Helen / Dahlonega, Georgia ( Blood Mountain ) . Got a couple more riders that are a " maybe " to join us. Anyone wanting to hook-up is welcome you can meet us in Knoxville on Saturday morning or Tellico Plains ( Exxon Biker Shed ) around 11:30 . I'm guessing we will stay overnight in Dahlonega or Clayton , Georgia . Weather is looking dry for the entire weekend. If you plan to join us post back here.

Tar snakes from Suches to Dahlonega on Hwy 60 ARE TERRIBLE in this heat.

Darn, I guess I won't be asking one of the fine southern folks on here to pickup an enclosed trailer at Diamond Cargo in Douglas GA before winter sets in and trailer it partially up my way for a few hundred bucks in gas money into southern IL somewhere?  Undecided

Enjoy the ride, summer is 1/2 over already.  Wink

You just need to ask the right guy.   I do stuff like that all the time to make a little non-taxed income.   Give me a holler some time and we can discuss exactly what, where, when and how much.   Very willing to make that trip.   Can even hold for you at my place for a short time.    Then again, that depends on how long I have to hold it.

And of course the local LEO's may be out in force on Hwy 129 south from Vogel State Park over the mountain to Turners Corner.

Even though it is so close, I don't ride over there much... am looking forward to it... how about
180 west of Vogel State Park and 348 near by?

West to Suches has been clear since 2004 when I got a ticket for 58 in a 25.   Embarrassed

348 seems to be pretty clear. I only recall one presence and that was a doc check at 348 and 180.

Comes and goes right now but first thing in the morning all is good til it swells Angry it will be a couple weeks before the swelling subsides.
