Beautiful east Tennessee ( GOD'S Country )

« on: July 27, 2015, 06:47:19 AM »

We had ( 6 ) riders show-up for the ride... Mike ( hubcap ) 1800 Valkyrie ... Gordon ( Lucky 13 ) Interstate... Paul ( Wimp ) Tourer ...Hal ( Hal47 ) Interstate.... Joe ( Smokinjoe ) BADMOJO and Larry on a Yamaha.... First stop the Biker Shed in Tellico Plains, Tennessee.

We took some great country backroads on our way to T.W.0.( Two Wheels Only ) in Sushes, Georgia for lunch.... Towee Falls Rd. / Candy Mountain Rd.
We made a stop along the Hiwassee River in North Carolina this railroad bridge is still being used the pictures don't show just how much of this wood is rotten-broken makes me wonder do they ever inspect this ? The Hiwassee River has its headwaters on the north slope of Rocky Mountain in Towns County in northern Georgia and flows northward into North Carolina before turning westward into Tennessee, flowing into the Tennessee River a few miles west of State Route 58 in Meigs County, Tennessee. The river is 147 miles long.

This picture was taken in The Nantahala Gorge...The Nantahala River is a river in western North Carolina, within the Nantahala National Forest, and near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Two-lane U.S. Highway 19/74, once part of the Trail of Tears, runs along the river.

The River rises near the border of Georgia and North Carolina, close to the Southern Nantahala Wilderness and the Appalachian Trail. It empties into the Little Tennessee River at Fontana Lake.

The word "Nantahala" comes from the Cherokee language and means "Land of the Noonday Sun". The river runs through a narrow and steep gorge where in some areas the sun only reaches the ground when it is directly overhead during the middle of the day.

Took these pictues beside US 129 before you get to Tapoco, North Carolina on The Cheoah River. The Cheoah River is a tributary of the Little Tennessee River in North Carolina.

It is located in Graham County in far western North Carolina, near Robbinsville, and is approximately 20 miles in length. Its headwaters are in the Appalachian Mountains where it flows northwest near Robbinsville, to the Santeetlah Reservoir and flows towards the Tennessee border with a terminus at the Little Tennessee between the Cheoah Dam and Lake Calderwood.

" The Money Shot "  .... I took this picture in my hometown of Clinton in The Great State Of Tennessee  on the Clinch River while I was waiting on the rest of the group before meeting at Gordon ( Lucky 13 ) house........... And out of the fog appeared a beast.

Thanks for sharing Joe. Hoping to get a day ride in Friday. If you're free, I'd love to come that way. And they'll start inspecting them after a major tragedy cooldude

Nice money shot, but you'd best be parking a tad bit over further for the kickstand has to be within say 6-8" of the edge of that concrete.  I bet you got off on the right side over the seat for if you dismounted on the normal left side,  you might have taken a drink in the water.   Pic looks too close for comfort along the waterfront?
