A friend of mine just left my shop earlier today to return his CB300F to the dealers.  They said they don't even have the part and don't know when they'll get it.........

They did personally call him on the phone and tell him about the recall so that was at least nice of them.

These recalls are designed simply to get you back in the shop so they can mysteriously "find" another issue to two or create one you'll find shortly ....  Evil

Ha, perhaps.  Although sometimes manufactures make bad stuff.  Go cheap, more profit.... then it backfires.  Who knows.

He dropped it off and went on about his business.  Guess their plan failed..........

I doubt seriously that's what a recall is for.
The local dealer has 20 or so bikes affected by the recall. He can't sell them.
You really think he just wants to get people in the door to "find" a problem or you think maybe he just wants to sell the bikes he has?
Dealers will be getting some (they weren't told how many) new relays next week and more as they are available.
