THAT IS SO FREAKING AWSOME!!! Literally made my hands shake as my imagination began to picture the video I could make with it! The only limitation I see is the 25mph max speed, but still SO COOL! Perhaps we could take contributions?  uglystupid2
 Thanks for thinking of me!

One of the problems I see with this is with multiple users in a concentrated location like a bike race or 15k run. You could have a bunch of these flying around within rather close proximity.

Power lines, tree limbs, and other obstacles could be another issue. Be kind of expensive hanging it up in a tree 500 miles from nowhere. I know it's programed to follow you in some manner but you are not flying it. It could fly itself right into the side cliff or into that tree without you realizing it.

but it does look cool.

I wonder if it has sensors to give it collision avoidance. And how about that throw it in the water and it flies out, now that was cool.

Gary G, Don't you worry about that man cave, it's pretty clean right now and looking for you to come back and visit it. If only more VRCC members knew what is available to them, huh?

Nogrey, When I saw this, it was an immediate no-brainer, I thought of you and Smokin' Joe because of his great ride reports also. My concern would be the cost. I have not looked into it but I will because I'd like one too. Oh, and BTW I forwarded everybody on my email list, even non-riders and I received nothing but gratitude and rave results from your most recent offering. Kudos to you.

Concerning its features as far as collision avoidance, I believe you can have anything you want if you're willing to pay. I wouldn't concern myself with collision because they would be rare and I'd give it the open air space that I presumed it needed.

OK, so I dove into researching right away. Last month, to pre-order was only $499. This month it is $699 and will be delivered May 2016. In 2 weeks, it will cost the market price of $999. Wish I'd known about it last month.
No collision avoidance, but is programmable so far as route and follow.
Not really upgradeable at this time. No mention in technical specs regarding updates or their availability in the future.
There are at least two other "follow drones" as they're called. Both exceeding the $1K mark without a camera.
Again, this was awesome. Still debating on taking the plunge.

Well then, we must have been at their website at the same time. I get back here to tell all and you already posted. Kismet my friend. Great minds and all that. I will probably get one for my son as a Christmas gift. He is a techie and camera buff.

I would need the collision avoidance model. Pretty much a given there. So I'll have to wait.
