Didn't say if he was wearing a helmet or not. Usually that information is in the first paragraph.

Believe this is staying on subject of thread. In Marietta Ga. cops posing as road crew. See someone texting, people think they are on radio to their crew, they are radioing patrol car down the street, $150 fine, 1 point on your license. Don't know others thoughts on this but I am for it. Texting is as dangerous as DWI . Had a couple of close calls on my Lady with some knuckle head texting. Sorry it cost that dude his life, what a waste.

I agree, texting and driving is stupid.  I've seen it mostly at stop lights, but in heavier traffic in town or on Interstate with crowded traffic especially,  pisses me off soo much I have been tempted dozens of times at a stop light to stop, get out, and wrap on their driver's window to let them know to put their damn phone away or I'll call the cops.

ATV or cycle accidents the story always mentions NO helmet worn.

Agreed.    Don't get me wrong, I've done a lot of stupid things in my life and luckily survived them but this goes beyond stupid IMHO.

Sad but, people that play stupid games normally win stupid prizes.

Here's a trick for ya Bro, pull up beside them & use your phone to take their picture.
Their reactions are priceless!!
This works best if you leave the flash on your camera on all the time...

Sorry the dude died. As we all are aware of riding a M/C takes ALL of yer concentration ALL of the time. You ever noticed the instant you let up is the instant kaka happens? Past 5 M P H hand held and driver accessible things-cell phones-laptops-etc etc-really need to shut off. Don't really know if Oklahoma still has the rule of pulling over and stopping to use your cell phone. And If you TRY to tell me you have a "right" to use your phone while ATTEMPTING to drive my right to life trumps your ATTEMPTING to drive. Younger drivers and some older drivers have like zero idea how many feet per second they travel at 65 M P H. 95.33 feet per second at 65 M P H. They MIGHT finally realize how many feet they travel per second after contact with a stationery object or a moving object-but by that time someone is dead or seriously injured or both.  Cry How about this for a thought-if YOU are proven to have been using a cell phone or laptop or something-your insurance pays the other damages but you are on the hook for your own car repair and your own physical body repair? One or two stories like that get circulated! RIDE SAFE.

We talked about similar instances many times here. I've been rear ended twice, once in the old car and once on the bike.
I swear both times the woman was on the phone but would never admit it and nothing happened to them.

Darwin  @ work - the guy had crap for brains....

I don't text DRIVING in a car, and I would only answer the phone on the bike (having bluetooth capability).

I really don't like being on the road with all the idiots with their phones up to their ears all the time anyway. It really scares me on a bike.

Good analogy! I read somewhere that a motorcyclist has to make as many decisions per second as a fighter pilot in flight, & they get to use an extra dimension! I've got less room to work with.

The helmet information must have been in the update (shows the report being updated) because I was looking for it and it wasn't there initially.

But it's good to know the media is on the ball.
