You keep telling yourself you lost because you didn't offer free crap Then how come every democrat campaign stresses and laments that the other guys are gonna take the people's stuff away? EVERY! "They're gonna take away your social security." "They're gonna take away your healthcare." "They're gonna take away your free phone". "They're gonna take away your (fill in the blank)". If the free stuff isn't so important, why pound it into the people that the other guys are gonna take the free stuff away? If you do some research, I don't think you'll find a Democrat campaigning to cut your SS benefits. You know, the money that you and everyone else has paid into since you were a kid? And to get back to your post. Are you ok with the R's that DO want to take it away? Healthcare..do you really want to beat that dead horse again? Free phones? I think you're referring to the program started by Reagan in the 80's.... Google is your friend. Nope, the Democrats don't say they're gonna take things away from the deserving, they sneak things in like the 700 BILION taken from Medicare on page 1,293,980,234 of the ACA. They take from those that pay/paid all the time in one form or another, but they never tell you this up front, because the voters are too stupid, remember?? If they knew what the Democrat legislation really was, they'd never get it passed, so they write things in a convoluted, long form manner to confuse even those who are voting for it, and then wind up peter-panning over and over again. And they admitted this, but supporters like you ignore the reality of it all and fall in line with blaming the other guys for their ill-actions. A reduction in future spending: The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimated that Medicare spending would be reduced by $716 billion over 10 years, mainly because the law puts the brakes on annual increases in Medicare reimbursement for Medicare Advantage, hospital costs, home health services, hospices and skilled nursing services. Hospitals have to absorb most of the reductions, about $260 billion over 10 years. Medicare Advantage will receive about $156 billion less. http://member.aarp.org/health/medicare-insurance/info-12-2013/medicare-and-affordable-care-act.html

I did spoof on the page number, but the SEVEN HUNDRED BILLION other specific dollars was pretty specific. As far them thinking the voters are stupid and convoluted writing of bills....... Remember this guy, the architect Obamacare, who Pelosi praised in one speech and then denied knowing in another. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Adrdmmh7bMo

Hmm -
My opinion on Obama - he's not the best president we've ever had, but he is also not the worst. In the big picture, I think he is doing a competent job. And yes I voted for him twice - I felt he was better for the country than the opposition.
I think republicans were squawking too much about Obamacare because they were more interested in getting out of town for the holidays than doing their job as legislators and going through and debating the bill. The idea of it is sound - as usual , the devil is in the details
Trump has and is going to make this election season alot more interesting than usual. I don't think Trump would make a very good President - he'd find that while the President has perks and it's own power, but it also comes with it's own straitjacket of what you can and can't do. And he would / will have to apply some of his business practices - compromise, negotiation, etc. The fact that he is getting the middle class and poor to listen speaks volumes. I'm also tired of the way Washington has been going lately.
I'm not quite sure who of the announced candidates would make the best president - but I'm pretty sure Ted Cruz is not ready for the big chair. Anybody going to Washington with the "win at any cost, even if it means shutting down the government" mentality is not there yet.
The republicans' candidates problem - what will appeal to the party (especially the right wing / tea party voters) to win the nomination will not necessarily appeal to the rest of the electorate.

They all try to appeal to the base during the primaries and then move towards the center to get the independents for the general election.

I don't know how I feel about him running. I know I don't want Hil Liar in office . Maybe we need a shake up a guy who just don't take crap from folks anymore. I believe he is pushing the right buttons. I don't really know how good a business man the guy is. I know he went belly up a couple of times and still manages to stay on top. I know he knows enough surround himself with smart people and that is what needs to be done. If you don't know hire someone who does. Nobody thought a Hollywood actor would make a good president and look how that turned out. I don't know if there are any Ronald Reagans out there anymore.

Some of us remember how it turned out. Tripled the deficit, granted amnesty to illegal immigrants, Iran/Contra scandal, opposed anti apartheid legislation , raised taxes 11 times (if I remember correctly). Before you guys get your panties in a wad, I voted for him also. He was not the infallible saint that people like to remember him as.
