http://bringmethenews.com/2015/08/03/sturgis-motorcycle-rally-is-keeping-south-dakota-officials-busy/

Some interesting stats here.

Damn glad I'm not working this Rally.

Saw somewhere where the Hell's Angels have made their entry shown.

Worked on these guys/gals a few times.        They can be tough to stomach.

They haven't made 100 DUI's yet, but close.   I think I read somewhere it was 81.

They haven't seized as much $$$ this year as they did last year.      That is drug related things.  Can't find what has been taken in vehicles compared to last year.

I have absolutely zero interest in attending this event.   Same reason I don't go to many events.   Simply too many people.      A life long friend sent me a pic he took from some place high looking down the main street, the street was so full of people that they were rubbing belly buttons with no room to turn around.

Serk, you got that sheet right.

I used to go as it was something to do when we came back here on vacation every year.

Now the kids are all grown and show no interest, daddy, mommy and the dog have also shown no interest.     So no more Rally time, just set back and read the Stat's, and think, damn I'm glad I'm not working those ferkin streets for a couple of weeks a year.t

Ron, I agree. Back when I could I did not. The only group rides that where a crap was VRCC rides.
My 60 years of riding was mostly solo. I did not need to think what the other rider was goin to do !!!Thanks to all sane Riders in the last riding years !  cooldude

MAYBE-when I was a LOT younger. These days unless I'm riding at a V R C C event or with good friends that are good riders-I'd rather enjoy the wind solo. AND the good friends/good riders list is rather short round bout these here parts!  2funny RIDE SAFE.

I did it 5 times,, but got tired of it. Tired of the camp ground and the whole scene. Maybe I am getting older or something but I seem to enjoy the VRCC rides way better. Or a long trip with one or 2 others.
Planning on riding to Anchorage next summer anyone wants to join me. Just me and Gig so far. 3 weeks of fun.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

As of today 12 death. 1 was a corvette driver. 3 at campgrounds from a cardiac event. Not bad stats.

Four years ago a friend from central Oregon was going to Sturgis with a friend. He got 30 miles and broke down. He had a nice Valk standard but took his Harley so he could fit in. On the freeway he hit a bump and his ape hangers broke off in his hands in the fast lane next to a trailer truck. With no way to steer he used body english and managed to get off  and down the off ramp before falling over. Could have died because he didn't ride the Valk.
