This is a real off beat topic but does anyone use shoe inserts?  I bought a pair of Icon El bajo riding boots online and they are a 1/2 size too big. I ordered another pair in a smaller size and I'm waiting for them to arrive.

If the smaller size is too small, I'll keep the first pair because with a better pair of socks they were a little more snug, but if I can find a good insert that should complete the fit.

I've worn some inserts in the past but they all seem to bunch up or get twisted up in my shoe before long so I thought I'd see if anyone had suggestions. I have 30 days to return if I can't get a good fit.

Thanks

Mike

I use them in my work boots. The ones that are kind of like neoprene stay in place well.

I've used gel sole inserts in motorcycle boots but now I've just found a comfortable boot that fits.
I been in TourMaster Solution 2 touring boots for three years.  They feel good on the bike and you can walk in them all day...

Go to Walmart and stand on the Dr Scholls machine, see if those do the trick for ya.  If not, put insoles under the Dr Scholls inserts.

Edit.....  You might want to remove the original inserts, then insert  some cheap others under the originals to add the space needed.

Use this in all of my riding boots since I have high arches. Gives me a very snug fit without any discomfort.

My two best pair of bike specific boots came 1/2 size too big, because I'm a cheap bastard and got both on big sales (expensive boots for half price)(a half size up on normal D width are about right for my EEE wide feet).  They are best for cold weather when double sox make them a near perfect fit.

But I run Spenco Polysorb in ALL my footwear.  They sell a wide selection, and all of them are fine.  They stay put, don't slip, and last for years.  If they must be trimmed at the toe, do little by little, too much and your toes go over an edge and that is not good.

They just about make a half size large a perfect fit, except the toe will always be a tad long.
