Not 100% sure I'm gonna like it but, tonight I and a friend put a set of I/S pipes with the piggies cut on my bike.   Has a little rumble to it now.    Have to get some highway time to see if I keep them on.    Had a good unmolested set of Standard/Tourer pipes on it but, I just couldn't bring myself to cut the piggies off.    Guess we'll see.

Great Pic, I know the feeling.    cooldude

I'm just glad my stock I/S pipes are all stock.  Going on the interstate this week for only about 20 miles at 80 mph,  my stock pipes were loud enough to barely able to hear my mp3 player music.  It actually got annoying having to listen to the pipes over the music after only 20 minutes or so.

There seems to be a huge noise increase (pipes and wind resistance noise, etc.) going from 65 mph to pushing 80 mph.  I'd hate to see 100mph.

I'd like louder pipes only in town or on much shorter trips,  but on the hwy. longer trips,  I'd be totally annoyed and would have to switch back to OEM for sure.

Ron I have two interstates, one unmolested exhaust, the other a full piggie cut, both with straight cut Air Flow 18" tips.  The piggie cut is a bit noisier at idle and slow speeds, but once up and running thru the wind, it's pretty hard to tell the difference, at least with my half helmets.  I have been told the piggie cut bike is nosier than stock by a rider behind me, but it is not that noticeable from the driver's seat. (A full face helmet may produce different results)

Now if I'm on the freeway and pass by a row of jersey walls,  the piggie cut exhaust lights up pretty good (and will surprise you a bit).

Does  anyone have any knowledge of someone putting "cheater plugs" or "laker plugs" like we used to put on our cars back in the 60's?

The only possibilities I can see would be to install a crossover with a plug or perhaps tap into one of the muffler chambers or possibly use small supertraps with straight pipes.

Supertraps are now being manufactured for ATV's. See:

http://www.2wheelpros.com/supertrapp-mudslinger-slip-on-muffler-2514040.html?o=11735430&gclid=Cj0KEQjwuqauBRDhnfvnxMvKy6UBEiQAmTLQu6q1rXR7K9a-XfpZooS7XUY77OjPjww4JZvPpGpp22EaAh4Z8P8HAQ

This could be the best of both options.

Cookiedough, if you were to get one of those F6b bikes you don't want, the stereo is way better and you can hear it easily at 80mph-After you put a taller windshield on it.

I have the piggies cut and 2 holes drilled in the first baffle (the next one just past the end of the pipe)...

Nice rumble and sound at takeoff and accel.... but not so loud at steady speed....

I can hear my stereo at 100....LOL

Mr tapping why don't you sell that POS you ride and get something that makes you happy?
Everything you have ever posted here was bashing the  1500 Valkyrie or Sayin I will ride this 1800 til something better comes along. It just don't make sense why you would continually come here unhappy with you choice of ride. Ther are many manufacturers out there that sell bikes every day so why hang on to something you are just getting bye with till something else better comes along? I just don't get it uglystupid2

The performance across the entire spectrum-from idle to hittin the chip-has gotten BETTER.  cooldude Might be seat of the pants knee jerk oh yeah thingy-but I don't think so. That digisync unlocked all the potential that is a 1500 Valkyrie.  coolsmiley Mine weren't WAY outa whack but when they are all on the same sentence in the same paragraph on the same page-well TRUST me when I tell ya-you WILL feel it.  Wink RIDE SAFE.
