A week ago Sunday we been out to the west coast an Sun morning on the south west side of lake Tahoe some young gal racing up the mtn side lost control of her pickup truck an struck a tree on her side an her truck came flying at us like hitting a fly with a flyswatter. She was so close and so fast all I could see was a white object club us. Squashed the hell out of our 1 1/2 yr old Outback. I got small glass fragments in my left arm that I brushed off an stopped bleading with some paper towel an a minute bump below the knee. Wife got bump below knee an on her stomach from the seat belt which bothered her all the way home tonight. From the way we got clobbered we came out smelling like a rose, but the 2014 outback is totaled.       We went to the coast for about for 2 wks to celebrate our 40th anniv.. Wife never been on a chopper an I had to cancel a 45min. Flight Over the Grand Canyon an we never got to see the giant cactus's plus a couple motel reservations an make other things do. The car rental was a huge pain in the ass. Wife has to see the doc on Mon. An tonight her black an blue spot is now huge.      To top off the bs a trucker fell asleep an ran us half in the grass on the interstate an some ash-le fell asleep on the interstate in front of me an I thought the MF was gonna kill somebody.

Hopefully you've hit your quota of bad drivers. I feel bad you didn't get to see the Grand Canyon or the Saguaro.  Undecided . But I'm glad you guys are relatively ok. Happy 40th by the way  cooldude

I'm not a doctor and I've never slept in a Holiday Inn.

Get the wife's "bruise" checked out for internal bleeding!!! Something may have been ruptured.

It sucks your plans had to change and cancel events you both really wanted to do.  I've seen lately more and more drivers doing stupic crap causing severe injuries.  Two of my co-workers all in the past few weeks have totalled their scooter and cycle, one being hit on the scooter by a driver NOT seeing him doing 30 mph or so in town, the other by a driver coming at him on his cycle in his lane totally having to do a ditch run and whipping out eventually.  Broken ribs and kidney issues and the normal bumps and bruises to show for it all because cagers have their head up their _sses.

Agree,   if bruises are becoming worse which sometimes they do though become darker in color afterwards as normal, but could be internal injuries as well.  Get it checked out again since is on the other driver's dime for their insurance company.  Pisses me off drivers like this are on the road easily being distracted and forcing us good drivers insurance up so much like mine went up 24.7% price increase forcing me to switch to yet another insurance company for no reason explained to me other than that insurance company had more claims in WI than normal.  My neighbor is one of them is a horrible driver been with him 2-3 times and was enough for me going over center line or speeding up to 70 mph and then out of nowhere slowing down to 50 mph.  Luckily he has had only 1 at fault accident is all in past 5 years on his driving record with as much driving as he does in 1 year about 25000 miles per year.

OK, this makes two Valkyrie folks I'm pretty sure I want to follow at a distance, a significant distance.    Dirty Dan being first.  Wink

Hope everyone recovers from the incident.   I agree with others, have a doc check out your wife.   These things can get worse very quickly.

My Goodness, Greg!! Shocked

Clicked on this post not knowing what to expect, and was just shocked to see it was you and that you've been in another road incident!  And, during your anniversary trip that you tried to plan so carefully!

The other posters are correct - you and Roberta get thoroughly checked out and patched up.  ALL on that "young gal's" insurance, of course!

Please let Eliz and me know how things go over time.  The giant cactus and the Grand Canyon will still be there when you're ready to try again. Smiley
