Hard to believe the effort and cooperation it would take.

Yep, and these folks probably don't even view it as a chore but as a necessary endeavor every year. They've sure got it down pat, but like Jess said, "They should get better Hemp!"

Couldn't do that here, EPA, OSHA, DOT, unions, politicians, and the simple fact that people would want paid for their labor.  Then God forbid, an accident happens and the lawyers would get involved.

Sometimes I wonder which society is more advanced.

I wonder how many Incans they went through before they determined the optimum rebuilding interval.

Would love to  participate in the project and walk over the bridge but, I'm kind of doubting I'd ride the "fat lady" over it.    Assuming one could even get her there.

Sometimes I wonder which society is more advanced.

Wisdom of Douglas Adams:

“For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.”

I doubt I would do it. But I think you could get a Trials bike across it.  cooldude
