It is possible he was  (is) a sleep walker. One of my sons friend , years ago stayed overnight and I heard the furnace room door open. I went into the hall just as he started to urinate on the furnace.
I directed him to the bathroom , the next door over and was on time. The next morning , he claims he had no knowledge of what I caught him doing.  He later told us that he was a sleep walker.
I am not defending this guy or his action , but he may be a sleep walker.

It's not unheard of to pee in ones sleep.  Once we were staying a couple nights at our uncle's house and my brother (in his sleep) peed on the heater vent which was on the floor  Undecided

My brother had this problem when he was little growing up.  Our house had a two story great room with a staircase up one side and a balcony overlooking, with three bedrooms and a half bath lined up.  He would walk down the balcony, and turn left (instead of right into the half bath), and pee over the balcony down onto the living room floor.  A little waterfall; us older kids thought was pretty funny... but my poor brother was embarrassed and never had any memory of it.
