2300 miles in 3 days. Mostly slab... did both a saddle sore 1000 and bun burner 1500 on the trip. Day 1, Indianapolis to York (Kittery) Maine. Day 2, Maine to Georgetown DE. Day 3, DE back to Indy.

Not for Sissies.

While ya'll on here don't want to hear it... for me, the Goldwing is WAY better than my Interstate was on endurance riding. I'll probably never sell my Standard, but my trade from the IS to the Goldwing was a good one.

I hope to be able to get to the Hoosier Ride in and check in with ya'll this week end.

Last time I checked a G/W is a M/C as is a H/D! You were in the wind you achieved some goals AND had a good ride-it's ALL good. Congrats on the accomplishments!  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

The other Iron Butt I did was on my standard. It was good, but the lack of cruise control hurt me. Other than that, it was OK.

Cruise control on those endurance rides is HUGE for me. The wing, with Bakers is phenomenal at keeping you warm and dry when it's raining. Not perfect, but the best I have ever had.

Agreed a long ride is best on a Wing.

You wouldn't get an argument from me.  Honestly the Goldwing isn't Honda's best for long distance.  The Civic is better and the Accord is even a step beyond.  I'm not certain though that riding a Goldwing should be classified as "endurance" riding.

Good ride, Jabba.  Sounds like you did get to see some countryside.   cooldude

A few years back I did 1171 mi. on my 02 standard over night from Central Or. to Laughlin, Nv. in 23 hours. Would I do it again, in a heartbeat. Loved the Valk. I had two GWs and never even approached that kind of mileage. I had a corbin seat, fullsize windshield and I was 69 years old then.

Great rides! I'm impressed by a SS1000 on back east roads but a SS1500 done back east is a real tough ride. Having rode to Maine and back this year myself I know making lot's of miles in the East ain't easy.

Good job.
