The Twilight Zone

Other than Big Bike parts, would anyone have an idea where I can find some armrests? My wife almost fell off the back twice running at highway speeds!! Shocked. I don't really need them for armrest to be comfy but to lock her in!!

The only downside to having a Valk is it is just too smooth and comfortable!!  Grin
Thanks in advance

Hell mine sleeps back there all the time.
Maybe sew a big patch of Velcro on her coat and the other side to the seat. Or maybe some Gorilla Tape 2funny

I take it your talking about these, they're the only ones I know of.

You could always install rear speakers if you don't have them and turn the music up when she get's drowsy or get one of those whip thingies the cool Harley riders are using.

Amazes me passengers can fall asleep on a cycle to be honest.  I know I would not if I was ever a passenger, even on a quieter newer Goldwing those being almost whisper quiet with more wind protection.

My interstate has passenger armrests,,, had to have a local sheet metal shop fabricate a mount for me from my cardboard mockup.
here is a link for the armrests that bolt to the fabricated mounts.

When I get home I will try and get some good pictures of the mounting brackets.

The brackets are mounted between the trunk and the trunk mounting bracket using same holes and longer bolts. Hopefully I will show this well in the upcoming pictures. Tina loves having the armrests (and attached cupholder).

My wife slept a bunch on my wings / interstates (long trips only)  but the arm rest were the insurance plan so she didn't or couldn't fall off. She isn't very big and I don't think anyone can fit under the arm rest? She is 5'2" and buck and quarter. I could tell when she was dozing or starting to, her helmet would hit me in the back. I'd just honk the horn and she would straighten up most of the time. Then I'd just find a place to pull over.

Cliff,
Would love to see the pics of the mounting bracket. My SO has been wanting me to install some armrests on my I/S.

Thanks Cliff I really would appreciate that! My wife has been known to doze off and that was OK but this was the first time I seen her almost fall off the bike and it happened so quick  I couldn't have caught  her!!!  Shocked

That site is about $200 cheaper than what I found and is exactly what I'm looking for....even though they're on back order. Looks like I may have to park her for a while.

Yeah me too! I've never been a passenger but once and that's when I had a flat and rode on the back of my buddy's bike with the wheel in one hand and hanging on with the other!  Grin  I always tell my wife she's got more guts than me because she is literally putting her life in my hands! No Way would I  ride with anybody!  Smiley

Yep that's it. I don't like the way it swings out ...and the price. Shocked I want something the Ultimate armrest I had on my other bike that flipped up.  I've got rear speakers with 300 watt speaker that I run almost wide open and it don't help!  Grin

Nah don't wanna do the whip thing, people will think I'm a wannabee!!  2funny

Back before my wife decided to go on to where ever we wind up, I made shoulder harnesses for both of us. Put D rings on back of mine and snap hooks on hers. every time she hooked up, that action would wake her and I didn't worry any more...

Jim I hear what you're saying but I would never use any kind of restraints on a bike. I've been riding too many years and had too many crashes to know it's not for me.....good way to get killed especially when she flips end over end.  Shocked

here are the pictures.  The only thing I would do different is extend the angle bracing all the way back to the rear mounting bolt rather than stop it just to the rear of the front bolt.  It would flex less than it does now.
