Glad you were paying attention, Dan! It's unfortunate that I (as well as most others here I assume)have to deal with the same thing on an almost daily basis. Thanks for the entertaining reminder to stay vigilant. It's the only thing between us motorcyclists and disaster. cooldude

We should NOT feel like targets out there BUT we know the idiots/malcontents/psychos/texters/and those that DO NOT pay attention while-ATTEMPTING-to drive BUT NOT actually driving. There ARE others out there and they ARE out to get us. Daniel-glad that stay alive sense kicked in. You absofriinlutely HAVE to stay in EXREME high alert while riding! RIDE SAFE.

I was on my way home from a ride that was hot and clear. The kind of ride that is just relaxing.

Doing 65 in a 60 with traffic ahead but at a safe distance , I get passed and a short cut in. Oh-well , I saw him -her start the pass and was ready. We continue on and the road opens up to three lanes in a business ,shopping area. Ding bat gets caught behind a car and I pass on the right and flow with traffic. The road goes to two lanes and flows as people are using turn lanes and just moving along. I see ding bat on my left as we get to a light and at the last second , cuts right in front of me and stops at an angle in front of me. I wanted to ruin my helmet on the shiny black car. Light changes and he bolts and car on left is slow. I change lanes as he gets caught behind and can not change lanes with me beside him. This is where I get (stupid) my one finger salute in. Not a brief one, but a long slow-fast pumping salute he saw and after I continued   on , he drove more like he should be driving. He followed at a distance , but would never pass on the two lane even when he had the chance. Maybe it was just enough to get him to realize that some people will fight back. Yes , I was wrong , but I was right.

Because he felt like it

Stupidity exists

So does evil

That's why I say be ready be prepared

If you aren't ready to use force......force will be used against you
