I've been doing the computer thing for 15+ years. In that time I think I've owned or repaired just about every brand there is. My biggest beef with HP is their printers. They make decent printers but their software is terrible. Like just about anything out there, you get good and bad. Right now I'm typing this on my moms old Lenovo laptop. Have two home built desktops running downstairs and just bought and installed an Asus for my wife's elderly Aunt and Uncle. I'm the guy the family calls with computer problems... uglystupid2

It just struck me, is the new laptop using Windows 10?

It is using 10.

1as some others have said, I'll bet that it's a software issue.

Have you gone online and downloaded any patches or upgrades for 10?

I'll probably try 10 on one of my lesser used computers before I allow it on my main one.

Tough to diagnose computer problems remotely, but I'm always willing to take an educated (?) guess...
