Gunbroker has one, could not sell it at $700.

Has it listed now, bid at $300, but reserve not met.

Has a buy it now of $599.

There are NO completed auctions of this model on Gunbroker, so not many moving out there.

What people ask is not always what they get.... but sometimes it is.

Have no idea what it is worth but the one I have just like it $100,000 wouldn't buy it Shocked it belonged to my Grandfather and I have some great memories of him letting me shoot it for the first time when I was a young Lad. You can't put a price on that cooldude

One of those links is to a Marlin Owners forum.  Spending some time looking around there (and even posting) might be useful.

Ultimately, you put it up for sale for what you feel is fair, and if it sells fine, and if it doesn't fine.  None of these nice older firearms is going down in value.

Is the medallion celebrating the 100 anniversary of Marlin?
If so add a few bucks.

Also you should price the gun higher than the same model in 22 LR.

Condition is an all important factor, like new then price it lie new.

Am sure the guy wants it pretty bad asking you to price it hoping you go too low and he steals it from you, well maybe?

Start off high and see what he says.  If you hold no special memories to it or not going to shoot it,  if like new, price as new like said.

Just a guess,  700 bucks down to 500?  Is still a .22 though.

marlin mfg. IN GENERAL is probably not the highest in terms of value, but they are decent guns overall usually.

Heck,  my ruger 10-22 bought new for 199 some 20+ years ago now fetch near 300 bucks new with scope, etc.    I would think double that in price for a rarer .22 is somewhat fair?  Your call.

Just remember, once you sell it, it is gone for good.

I stole at an auction in the 90's  a remington semi auto 1100 shotgun with scope and extra choke tubes for 250 bucks not even needing it but figured under 300 is a good deal.  A guy offered me 350 for it after the auction, but said no thanks why didn't he bid then?  Wife was a tad upset since was 1 hour away and was there to buy a 5hp outboard motor that went too high for my liking.  She had to get my gun case and drive to auction 1 hour away so I can legally transport it home in my truck.

Last two times (around the 4th and Labor Day) I was in the Green Bay, WI Cabela's, they had two Marlin levermatics on the used gun rack outside the Gun Library.  Seemed priced a bit high to me (around $800?), but then, maybe it'd be reasonable to someone that's been searching high and low for one.
I want to say they were both .22 mag, but my memory isn't all that hot on things I don't care about all that much.

I don't see any reason why the folks at Cabela's wouldn't be willing to say what they're asking for theirs, so...
IF you're willing to invest some time on the phone getting passed around and on hold, the store's phone number is 920 264 0140.  The two in question were located in the same rack area both times I saw them; if you're standing in the aisle facing towards the gun library entrance, it's the first rack on the left (farthest from gun library), on that rack's back side, upper level, one toward each end of the rack.
