I'm more concerned that he doesn't have any military experience, never served.

I also read in my Military Time that there is a significant increase in Transgenders joining the service.

Sad   Shocked   Roll Eyes   Undecided   2funny          "  Is this part of Hope and Change ? " ...
this is the " fundamental transformation of America " part of his promise ...
and the people cheered .... you would have to be brain dead ...
         a hero they said ...
our new savior ... it was claimed

Under the teachings of the Quran and Sharia Law, it is very specific about what Muslims are allowed or not allowed to do. For instance, Muslims are not supposed to lie, be friends with “infidels,” or do sinful things such as drink or visit strip clubs. However, there is a caveat to this, and that is if Muslims are pursuing a higher command (such as jihad) they can violate the lower commands of the Quran for the sake of blending in with our society..........A caveat is a warning. When someone adds a caveat to something they’re telling you to beware — maybe what they’re telling you comes with certain conditions or maybe there’s something dangerous lurking............A caveat is a warning. When someone adds a caveat to something they’re telling you to beware — maybe what they’re telling you comes with certain conditions or maybe there’s something dangerous lurking..............

Whether you are ready to face reality or not, the fact remains that there is a plan in place to implement Sharia Law into all facets of American society. Adopting Sharia Law in America would be rejected by most Americans, as it calls for the subjugation of women, killing homosexuals, stoning women who commit adultery, cutting off of limbs for anyone caught stealing, and many more ridiculous rules and laws.

Under the teachings of the Quran and Sharia Law, it is very specific about what Muslims are allowed or not allowed to do. For instance, Muslims are not supposed to lie, be friends with “infidels,” or do sinful things such as drink or visit strip clubs. However, there is a caveat to this, and that is if Muslims are pursuing a higher command (such as jihad) they can violate the lower commands of the Quran for the sake of blending in with our society.

In order for Sharia Law to creep into our society, it must be done slowly through highly-honed tactics. And the following are the four Arabic terms that non-Muslims should fully understand in order to combat this deception.

 1. Takiyya
This means that Muslims are allowed to lie, and conceal their true thoughts, feelings, or character. It is based on the verse in the Quran which states:
“Let believers not make friends with infidels in preference to the faithful – he that does has nothing to hope for from Allah – except in self-defense.” (Surah 3:28)
Because Muslims feel as though their actions against us are in “self-defense,” this provides justification for their lying. Osama Bin Laden claimed that the attacks on Sept 11 were justified because it was “self defense.” Islamic Sharia Law also validates lying for a higher aim:
“When it is possible to achieve an aim by lying but not by telling the truth, it is permissible to lie if attaining the goal is permissible, and lying is obligatory if the goal is obligatory.” (Reliance of the Traveler, Para r8.2 )

 2. Tawriya
This term means that it is ok to lie in virtually all circumstances. Tawirya is when a Muslim says one thing, but basically means another. You could think of it as creative lying. As long as his words technically support the alternate meaning, it is ok to lie. For example: you could as a Muslim if they know where Abdullah is. They could respond “no” to you, as long as they keep in mind a totally different Abdullah than who you are asking about.

3. Kitman
This term is when Muslims only tell you part of the truth. Perhaps the biggest lie Muslims try to push is in relation to the term “jihad.” I cannot tell you how many times I’ve heard Muslims try to claim that the term refers to an “internal” or “spiritual struggle” and has nothing to do with terrorism. This is a complete crock of… well you know.

 4. Muruna
This term means that Muslims can use flexibility to blend in with their enemy and surroundings. As long as they can justify their behavior as deceiving the infidel in order to attain a higher goal, then it is perfectly ok. So Muslims can shave their beards, wear western clothing, or drink alcohol in order to blend in. If they can convince you they are a part of your society, they are pretty much off the hook for obeying the verses of the Quran which forbids this type of behavior. A common way of using muruna is for Muslims to take non-Muslims as their spouses so their true agenda does not come under scrutiny. A perfect example of muruna in practice is Hilary Clinton’s aide Huma Abedin marrying Jewish Congressman Anthony Weiner. This arrangement provided Huma unprecedented access to the White House, and throughout it all, her true intentions were never questioned.

taqiya (تقیة taqiyyah/taqīyah) is a form of religious veil, or a legal dispensation whereby a believing individual can deny his faith or commit otherwise illegal or blasphemous acts, specially while they are in fear or at risk of significant persecution

this is similar to when peter denied jesus 3 times because of his fear of persecution

folks don't learn about Christianity or about the 'truth of Christianity' by going to sites that are against (or hate) Christians --- why go to muslim hate sites to learn about the muslim faith?

Never served.  While I admit that I haven't read his resume, it appears that he kissed all the right ass to get where he's gotten.     I doubt this will cause a huge increase in retirements with those career soldiers under twenty years but, it could be the reason for a lot of career soldiers over twenty to leave.

Losing those experienced (over 20 year) soldiers while facing the middle east threat will not make it easier to win the battle.    Obama's social agenda has a higher priority than the lives of our young men and women.   I wonder, if Obama has done the same thing with the Secret Service and specifically, his security detail?    Putting the right PC folks there seems pretty important to me, doesn't really matter if they are qualified to protect the President.

Eric Fanning, Civilian Adviser, Named Secretary of the Army
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/09/19/us/eric-fanning-civilian-adviser-named-secretary-of-the-army.html

WASHINGTON — President Obama is nominating Eric K. Fanning, a close civilian adviser to Defense Secretary Ashton B. Carter, to be the secretary of the Army, an appointment that would make him the first openly gay secretary of a military branch.

Mr. Fanning has been the acting under secretary of the Army as the current secretary, John McHugh, prepares to leave his post. Mr. Fanning’s Defense Department jobs have spanned the services: He has served as Air Force under secretary, deputy under secretary of the Navy and deputy chief management officer of the Navy.

“I can’t think of any civilian with more experience with the services, having served in senior positions in all three,” said Derek Chollet, a former assistant defense secretary. “He understands all of their unique cultures and processes.”

If confirmed by the Senate, Mr. Fanning will help guide the country’s largest military service as it undertakes a sweeping integration of gay soldiers. While the Pentagon lifted a prohibition on openly gay service members in 2011, it continues to struggle with a culture in which such members say they feel uncomfortable.

As a civilian, Mr. Fanning never had to conform to the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy governing gay service members, which was in place for more than 15 years. But his appointment demonstrates that Mr. Obama and Mr. Carter want to keep pushing the military toward more openness toward gay men and lesbians, an administration official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to speak freely.

The official noted that the administration has been working to eliminate barriers to military service based on sexuality or gender. Defense Department officials say they believe the changes since the repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell” have largely been a success. They say that none of the dire predictions of opponents, like a potential exodus of troops, have occurred, and that recruiting, retention and overall morale have not been affected.

But gay and straight service members say that ending the legal barriers has not erased all the cultural barriers. Some gay service members say they experience harassment and discrimination.

Mr. Fanning, 47, a graduate of Dartmouth, is well liked at the Pentagon, and his appointment was widely expected. As Army secretary, Mr. Fanning, who has served as chief of staff to Mr. Carter, would exert influence over the selection of generals and over Army policy, including the integration of women into combat roles, training of combat forces and purchase of weapons.

Gay rights groups hailed Mr. Fanning’s appointment.

“We are thrilled to see Eric Fanning nominated to lead the world’s greatest army,” said Ashley Broadway-Mack, the president of the American Military Partner Association, a support organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender military families. “History continues to be written and equality marches forward with the nomination of an openly gay man to serve in this significantly important role.”

The Human Rights Campaign, a gay rights organization, called Mr. Fanning “the perfect choice to lead the world’s best-trained, most dedicated and formidable army.”

Repeating mistakes doesn't speak well for the person making the decisions.
But then, looking at the decisions that have been made proves Obama is not into reading and understanding history.  His "social agenda" is top priority.
