Hey Brad,
If it was a nail or something of similar size, in the tread of the tire, it should hold until the tire needs replaced.  Shouldn't matter if a M/T or a C/T.

I've plugged two on my Valk with no problems ever....M/T.  I used the sticky string type.

When plugging your tires, make sure you use plenty of glue.     Then give it a chance to stick.

Glue in da can is the secret to making it stick in the tire.

Just don't get jack rabbit with it and tear it out of  he carcass.

Jus' tell me you're using good rope plugs & glue, not those worthless "mushroom" thingies!
Rope plug will vulcanize as the tire heats. I've run plugged tires in the triple digits. Shocked

Thanks all

Made it home no problem.   It is a string plug. But the were sticky already out of the package. Did not come with extra glue.  But did not lose a drop of air in 250 plus miles .

I'd replace a cycle tire with plugs, but no issues on a car tire.  I just don't have much faith in my repair jobs and a hole is still a hole and on 2 wheels only, to me anyways,  can be too dangerous of a risk.

ON vehicles,  I take it off the car and bring to my local tire shop in town.  He takes it off the rim and uses a plug/patch combo from the inside out and never had any issues have done 3 this way so far to make the tire last another 20-30,000 miles.

Now on my ATV tires,  I will use the string plugs if needed with no issues and if becomes an issue,  I will put in ATV tires an inside tube which works really well.  Can't do that on a cycle tire.

I'm surprised with the amount of nails/screws and other metal debris on the roads it doesn't happen more often.
