This was larger than a regular string plug, it was the big bertha plug in my 200-60-16 Bridgestone Exedra

In retrospect I should have just left the smaller leaking plug in and would
have made it to the Honda dealer in
DesMoines in enough time for a new tire to get mounted,

Still dont think it was really a squirrel, unless it was like a Texas squirrel

This plug blew out and almost took me out and the bike.   There had been a string plug on the opposite side of the tire since Ashville inzane BTW

Just another reason I Will NOT ride on a plug. My life is worth more than the price of a tire.

What Bighead said. Hopefully it will get ya home at a slow speed but I won't ride one any further than that. IMHO, plugs are temporary on a motorcycle tire. Some have ridden a plugged tire a bunch of miles and will disagree but that is fine.   cooldude

One time I plugged a rear on a scenic trip from Louisiana to Niagara Falls and back.  First  put in a mushroom plug, but still was losing air, then put in a string besides the mushroom.  Got it to the point that I only had to air up every 200 miles, or every fuel stop.  Think I put about 4000 miles doing that.  The tire was severely cupped by the time I got back home, but the trip was a success, and I and the group wasn't hung up at a dealer.  I was also pulling my Harbor Freight trailer for this trip.  The 12 volt compressor worked like a champ and never missed a lick.  Probably not the smartest thing, but it worked.

It's all about our OWN personal level of comfort zone on 2 wheels.

4 wheels on ATV or vehicle, no issues with plugs as long as hold air.  2 wheels,  I may do it temporarily to get to nearest dealership or cycle tire changing place, but not take any trip on it doing hwy. speeds unless to nearest tire changing place and at that, doing it slowly, or limping back home not riding it elsewhere.

To bad you cannot put a tube inside a cycle tire like I have done 2x's now on an ATV tire where my ATV tires are like 8+ years old starting to weather check (hairline cracks) somewhat on sidewalls but plenty of knobby tread left (ATV tires get a pounding) usually before the tread wears out unless road riding.
